Today coaches are arriving in truck loads at Heathrow airport in Hillingdon and they are transferred to houses and hotels for free and the government wont say how much they spend for them to stay there, the villagers are outraged, whats your view and what would this mean for the UK?

I think more could be done.

I think the UK managed to successfully integrate 20,000 Vietnamese 'boat people' in the 1980s without so much fuss.

Well im not sure how many coaches you can fit in hillingdon,, and why there is outrage at coaches or how they will fit in houses, but I am assuming you actually meant immigrants in your op.

Honestly, I'm half South African so the daughter of an immigrant, I have family from all over the world and my sister has emigrated to another country. I suppose for me, it depends 1. Where the immigrants are from and then whether they have been survivors of wars or other atrocities and 2. Whether the immigrants are wishing to integrate themselves into british society and work here. I do believe that there is a need to support those in genuine need, British citizens or otherwise, and help them get back on their feet, however I do disagree with allowing entry to those who are simply attempting to enter a country for the benefits that country provides and who have no intention of giving back to the country or whom are not in need of genuine help. Without knowing the history of those arriving I am not going to judge their situation.

They will be spread out across the UK mostly in the midlands and up north very little will stay in London and they will get NASS accommodation and before anyone jumps on the benefit band wagon they are not eligible for benefits but will receive assistance from NASS.

Harmondsworth immigration centre has been on bath road in Hillingdon and has been taking in immigrants for year's.

I could tell you some very interesting stories, suffice to say 70% have always managed to get a house, benefits etc..

Going back to the early 90%

They even have /had a benefits office onsite for them to start claiming, even before they had been processed most were, getting hand outs and on the top of all local councils housing lists.this is all while still classed as illegal immigrants and without a UK passport or able to speak more than a few words of English.

This was a fee year's ago so thing's may have changed.

And yes I witnessed all of the above with own eyes and ears.

The UN needs to be much more high profile. Should we be taking genuine refugees from war torn countries? Of course. But should the US, Canada, Russia, Australia etc maybe help? There needs to be a co-ordinated response rather than the panic which seems to have taken ove Europe's leaders.

I so agree! What price humanity and compassion!

The absurdity also though is that so many on these threads berate the asylum seekers for claiming benefits - when WE DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO WORK! Asylum seekers are prohibited from seeking employment until residential status is given and neither are they entitled to main stream benefits - they are funded from Central Government funds and often housed in poor quality locations that other people have turned down.

We should allow them to work - as they can do in Germany - and quickly encourage them to contribute and lift themselves from the poverty we currently restrict them to.

By not allowing them to work we not only force dependency but also sadly encourage a few to seek other means of bolstering income or improving their quality of life - but facts show this is a few, not the majority.

At what point do you sit back and take in the negative effect this has on this country you reside in?/

I'm all for immigration providing its done correctly and fairly and we allow people in who will actually contribute to society not just take.

Any manager in the NHS will say that without immigration into the UK the NHS would have collapsed ages ago.

I really can't understand the level of almost complete and utter hatred shown by some on here for people who, for the most part, are desperate people simply trying to do what we would all probably be doing if we were in a similar situation. For God's sake you don't have to agree to letting everyone one in but to fail to see genuine need, or worse still, to see it and choose to ignore it says far more about the people making those posts than it does about the migrants trying to get here.

All that being said I don't think the solution to this migrant problem is to allow them all into either the UK, the EU or even distribute them around the rest of the developed world. The solution to this problem is not in Britain, Europe or any other country outside their countries of original origin. We also, particularly in the case of migrants from Syria, Iraq and Libya, have to seriously consider the possible security impacts that might arise. I'm pretty sure ISIS is going to try and take full advantage of this crisis to try and get as many potential terrorists as possible into Europe and Britain.

Finally we should be asking ourselves why, in the case of Syrians in particular, they are not taking advantage of the refugee camps set up by the UN in neighboring countries. Maybe if we, and even more so the rest of Europe, spent a little more money on making sure accommodation, food, medical supplies and education were readily available in these camps the refugees would not be so willing to risks their lives on a perilous gurney across seas and continents in order to be able to live a decent life.

True I can't begin to understand her suffering, but I can understand when someone is using a four year old crime as propaganda. There's no link between that and the current immigration and asylum situation, other than ultra-conservatives picking on any crime to try to slur asylum seekers.
