How we view prospective partners

I read somewhere once that when viewing prospective partners, women will pick a body apart (I like his chest but his legs are too skinny, nice eyes but nose too big etc) then make a decision on the results, whereas a man will look at the whole and come up with a yes or no without analysing the different parts. Do you think this is true? How do you personally view people? Do you pick them apart and notice the bad or just the good?

I looked deep into Mr tatts eyes first then went by how he came across and made me feel.

The body changes with on going years one way or another so it's not something I go by.

Actually, a study at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln showed that both men and women view women more as individual body parts, whereas both sexes are more likely to see men as the sum of their parts.

It is an interesting study into the objectification of women in general because it shows that it is not a male-specific trait.

I like to think that I personally view everyone as the sum of their parts, but what we think we do and what we actually do can be two very different things.

On here it's a face/body that I find attractive and with a personality similar to mine, But for a partner for life it would be the same as what I just said but probably similar age or younger then me as I still would like children one day

No. They say we have made the descision in 0.3 sec before our conciouness is even aware of it.

You need to be pretty, slim to fit, and have something else to keep me entertained or at least the wit to keep your mouth shut.

Assuming they have average looks all I look for in the rest is chemistry and personality. Anything after that are bonuses!

yes but were they really hairy? I have a wonderful platonic friend but his hairy nostrils put me off anything more intimate.

We may all have a preference for certain attributes,one way or another,it's only human nature.

On the other hand,don't write them in stone,some of our best times,didn't fit those preferences.

That is a really good point! I don't particularly have a "type" for me it's all about the face and personality. A woman can make anything work if she has the right attitude
