Anyone here drift? If so what's your weapon of choice?

When I say drift I mean putting a car sideways, not some weird sexual business!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I haven't got a sideways gear, just six forward and 1 reverse.

You guys never heard of second hand tires and track days? Doesn't mean you have to break every rule on the road doing it

Ah, unsafe tyres with which one can crash alone and uninsured?

That's much better

Fucking ridiculous ones!

I reckon I could get them cheaper but I was stuck with a puncture and a captive market.

19" low profiles. I suspect when I need to replace more than one I'm going to cry!

Put your registration plate into blackcircles (google it) £300 sounds insane.

Most expensive I've ever heard tyres is 19" all terrain tyres direct from Range Rover at £250.....£110 for the same from black circles

Just done a quick search and for 19s presuming it's a 45 profile then you're looking around £120ish for run flats....even perelli P zero run flats come in at £202 fully fitted. I've had P zeros and highly recommended them, best tyres I've ever had.

£300 is beyond ridiculous for a tyre.

I had to pay £175 once in an emergency, and that was for a 17" Ford wheel.

I can believe that a Merc in the same situation is much more.

Before we get to DG's DB7

Yup that's pretty much what I thought too but I was in Lancaster and didn't have much option. They saw me coming for sure.

I've just checked my little note I kept from the tyre and they're 235/40 R19 92V - Standard load radial tubeless - contisport contact

I'll have a look at Blackcircles, thanks

Currently on the hunt for an AE86 to build with my daughter (it will eventually be hers). We have plans to fit an RB27 engine at some point. It will be a drift monster when it's done.

Why would you go to the track to really push your car hard and take second hand tyres

Becouse second hand tired cost next to nothing, and you don't want to use your own good tires for shredding. track days doesn't mean you have to treat it like time attack, you can take your car to Santa pod for drift days.

I sometimes drift.

In and out of consciousness.

This subject's enabling the latter I'm afraid. Goodnight.

I marshall at some events, got a land deal going on atm which could be very lucrative so looking at my options, Swaying towards a 350Z though as I would cry if I hit anything more expensive.

NW London

Used to have an Opel Manta GTE when I was younger and that went sideways quite a bit (intentional and unintentional).

Nissan 200SX are good for it too.
