Depends what it was. Everyone deserves a second chance.

For me, it would depend what the circumstances are, and what they had done, and whether the confessed or had tried to hide it.

We all make mistakes sometimes. Noone is perfect

no matter

Problem is if you love them / care for them you just put up with it as the alternative hurts just as much.

Let me know if you work out an answer..

"Over. The End."

I think this is pretty much my _iew. Once trust is broken they'd have to work super hard to get it back and even then I'm not sure it would ever be 100%.

Would very much depend on the circumstances. I can forgive most stuff but even though my memory is terrible, these are the things I don't forget.

Would depend on what was actually done and if the person was truly repentant for the wrong doing.

Yes.....er......that's why I said it. There again, I'm quite a relaxed and forgiving type of person.

It is you reaction to the action that will determine the outcome. There actions is an external influence, you choose how to internalise it x

It depends how much shared history you have together.

Sometimes love conquers all.

Sometimes it doesn't.

Only you will know which is right for you, and it might take time to decide.

Big hugs, and good luck whichever path you choose.

I was given a second chance by my ex when I cheated on him Six years ago, I wasn't 'me' when I did it (very dark place, wrong friends, drinking everyday and that kind of thing) when I got found out it turned my life around and for five years we were happy.

I will always be grateful to my ex for pulling me back from a life of d*unk nights and the wrong crowd, he could have said (like everyone did say to him) 'go' but he didn't. I moved out through my choice, we started dating again and we were happy but eventually our marriage came to a natural end last year x

I would not give a second chance. I don't have enough good years left in me to chance being let down/hurt/whatever again.

I'm too caring. I will give chances to people I care about. It has driven me pretty far into depression at times and I will probably make the same mistakes again

You need to start caring about you first.

People who deserve your caring won't drive you into depression because they should care about you too. x

I would usually give people one chance - but that would depend on the circumstances too, if they could see what led to it (and anything on my part) and there was a desire to change or not repeat it. If it's in terms of a relationship breakdown, then you have to look at what has gone before I think.

I give most people a second chance, whether that be on here or in real life.

I let my feelings be known and then they can react accordingly.

Ok, yes. I agree. I'll be a bit more specific but vague with my initial post - most people deserve a second chance depending on what they have done. If someone murdered my kids then they would not deserve or get a second chance. I'm assuming it's not at that level of unforgivableness.

A close friend's husband went off the rails some time ago and she threw him out. I suggested she might not want to discard 20 years of a good marriage because he hit a bad patch. They made it work.

It is not always a no win scenario

Depends if they're really sorry for what they did. Someone sorry will try to make reparations, someone who doesn't give a shit will do it again.

I tend to distance myself from people, letting them know when/if they're ready to change they can come back. If they try to the the piss again then they aren't welcome back.

I've personally always forgiven. My advice would be to move on.

It depends on circumstances and reasons, but someone who makes lots of excuses for their actions will just come up with new ones the next time around.

There's a Japanese art form called Kintsugi - it's basically repairing broken pottery and objects using gold and silver to solder the cracks together. It's beautiful and proves that even something broken can be repaired and made more beautiful. Please google the images.

Not knowing the circumstances, I can't really comment, but everyone deserves a 2nd chance.
