the chance of winning all 6 numbers in the lottery used to be 14 million to 1

Camelot have now added an extra 10 numbers tonight to make it even harder and instead of 14 million to 1 chance

you now have 1 chance in 49 million

how many people on this forum have won all 6 numbers on the lottery in the last 17 years?

only the poor play the lottery as the chance of a dream escape, this dream is now 3 times harder at 1 in 49 million chance

still Camelot will be able to pay wealthier returns to their share holders in dividends

its harder to win the jackpot..... but because they are also introducing a million pound draw... the odds of being a millionaire are shorter....

i do like the fact that if you now only get 2 numbers... you get a free shot the following week....

So basically your chances have worsened from a cats chance in hell to a cats chance in hell!

Like with most forms of gambling, the real winners are the lottery / gambling companies - the odd Joe Public winning big a minor inconvenience to the overall profit making of the corporate giants behind them!

At least with the lottery a good % does go to deserving causes

I've said this before.

Give up camalot. Play the irish lottery on same days, (wed an sat), it's only £1 like camalot used to be before they got greedy. AND, the numbed only go up to 47.

Go to any William hill an just do it!

I've always don't the lottery from day one, I also know someone who won the jackpot in around 1996. If I was to look at the odds I wouldn't have kept on doing it. The only thing I can say is 'you gotta be in it to win it' may never win it but do win £25 and sometimes even won the £100+ (four numbers) now and then.

Never bought a lottery ticket.

Joined a syndicate at work this year and once you're in you don't dare leave!

Preston

4,8,10,16,28 and 39. Picked those when I was around 16 and it first started.

4,8,10 were my usual shirt numbers depending on position when playing football, but 16 was my favourite number because the other side assumed you were rubbish and normally a sub! Worked a treat when the ref allowed it but normally they'd say 1-11.. The other two completely random. rarely bother now and won't bother anymore

All bookies do it. I think William hill may only be 575/1 for 3 numbers. Where I worked did 600/1. Oh and it doesn't have to be £1.. You can pick your stake.

It's not playing the Irish lottery though, it's a bet on the outcome of the Irish lottery. I think it's quit easy to get carried away on the combo though, I used to take shit loads of bets off some people!
