Maybe it depends more on what it is you don't like about them?... Say there's two people you dislike, one because of their pretentious personality and another because they screwed you over in the past on something important... Let's say they spread rumours about you at work.

In one of those life or death situations which happen so often which one will it be?

In private life, ive lived with someone for 32 years.

To have sex with someone from here, I have to know them a bit and yes I have to like them.

This! If I was attracted to them physically (and vice versa)and it was impulsive, a spur-of-the-moment thing, but I couldn't take it further if there wasn't a deeper like or connection.

If I don't feel comfortable with a person then nothing will happen, I don't think you have to have an attraction though for doing this just to feel at ease with who ever you meet.
