I do wonder sometimes whether some of the guys on here would actually meet a 99 year old? Really? Or the other end of the scale, guys in their late 40s or 50s that will meet an 18 year, not saying 18 year old women wouldn't want to meet a man more than twice their age but guys that are happy to meet women more that twice their age?

Do you not do it more on attraction than age? Yes I would agree I would not be attracted to a 99 year old

I think you're over-thinking it.

Just see it as one of two scenarios :

1. Too lazy to apply intelligence to their profile.

2. Genuinely open to meeting any age

Use the rest of the profile to determine which is more likely.

I have 28 to 60 as my range, but ideally I'm looking for about 30-32 to about 55ish so within 10 or 12 years either side of me (I'm 43). The additional years are to allow some flexibility as I don't want to be rigid.

Anyone too young or too old I feel I'd struggle to have much common ground or life experience with, and for me it's hugely important that I can relate to and connect with the people I meet

I think you're over-thinking it.

Yes because using the default age setting on the website means your not intelligent..i had the intelligence to know that there wouldnt be any 99 year old women on here messaging me asking if i want a gumjob haha i used my brain and came to the conclusion that since im an averagely attractive single male who doesnt drive ill be doing 90% of the messaging and the age requirements would be pointless to set lol

I think most leave 18-99 to signify that age isn't a huge factor for them. The problem with setting a range is its a definite cut off point. One day you can message someone the next day you can't, they haven't changed over night lol. Age is a very different thing from person to person some 51 year olds are fit and healthy and act and look younger some aren't and don't, same at any age.

People have a rough idea but it varies from person to person so some leave it open. Others have a definite issue each to their own

It seems there is a bit of envy in the above post.

No matter how odd it might seem some people do not regard age as a barrier.

Possibly the most renowned example is Hugh Hefner who was dating 20 year olds when he was in his late 70s.

Yes he had the advantage of fame and wealth but it still shows some people will date no matter what the age gap.

I also assume that the OP has not noticed that despite the common image of 99 year olds being wizen looking with no teeth in reality many are no different from people aged in their 70s or 80s

We hear many posts claiming their right to post their own particular preferences on the site so why mock someone who decides not to reduce their options by reducing their age preferences but prefers to judge each meet on their own merits as an individual.

You may not approve but others may not approve with some of your preferences.

Gone are the days when it was thought that married couples no longer had sex after the birth of their last child, though a few luddites still cling to that thought.

People are individuals no matter what their age, colour or sexual orientation and should be allowed to have consensual sex with who ever they choose as long as it is legal.
