"Entitled to ride bikes on roads at least 200 miles away from where I'm driving Sorry...." No your not! Cyclists have as much right to use the roads as car drivers, the fact that they are a bloody nuiscence is neither here nor there

"All cyclists are....... Human and deserving of some courtesy from motor vehicle users. Definitely lol...we're not all cunts...some of us obey the rules of the road...or is that just me? Lol " I reckon car drivers should be made to cycle a bike on the road as part of the driving test. Then at least they'd have an awareness. I don't think you can lump all cyclists in the same bracket... whilst there are numpties, there are a huge number of very capable cyclists who know how to sit a bike and cycle on the roads. Regardless though, whether someone is a numpty or not, they're still human and their life matters equally.

"I've always thought cyclist's should be on the pavement." So do many cyclists...they feel much safer there, where they're wielding more metal, and are sitting higher up, and can go quicker....

"All cyclists are....... Human and deserving of some courtesy from motor vehicle users. " Courtesy is a two way street. Live close to the Olympic cycle route and our roads are blocked every weekend as 1000's flock here. We also have many organised cycle events with roads closed inconveniencing locals so these guys can indulge themselves. A few show consideration to other road users but the majority ride in peletons on narrow roads with no regard whatsoever for other road users. Why should their hobby affect everyone else? Several of them have been killed recently causing even more mayhem with roads closed and diversions put in place meaning a 2 mile journey becomes a 10/15 mile detour. Touched a nerve here you can probably tell! I cycle myself, but unlike these selfish Lycra clad idiots show consideration to other road users.

"as far as im aware the law is if its a busy highway then they most cycle in single file,..........other wise then they can ride a breast......." The law is, "you should never cycle more than two abreast". If motorists overtake cycles properly, then riding two abreast will actually make overtaking easier. Unfortunately some motorists just try to squeeze through whatever space is there, with no regard for the cyclists. Anyway, I'm just going to ride to work now Cal

"Perhaps if some of you had lost cycling friends to bad, dangerous drivers you wouldn't be making such flippant remarks. And quite frankly shows exactly why people get killed by car drivers. There are many thing's I can list. Fact. Next time you get irate because a cyclist has held you up for two seconds and you decide to try forcing him/her into the kerb, remember they don't have crumple zone's, air bag's, abs,a heavy metal chassis etc.. Just skin and bone. But hey if it makes you feel better go ahead, they are only cyclist's. They are not human, don't have families. Do they? Yes there are bad cyclists and bad driver's, bad pedestrians. I feel strongly about this and it's not a laughing matter. I could go on, but I won't. But please try to patient, we all have places to go, is it worth killing someone to get there. No further comments. " My parents cycle pretty much everywhere and have lost several friends in accidents that totally could have been avoided. Whatever the opinion of bad road users, regardless of their mode of transport, we could also with being a little more patient and not tarring everyone with the same brush. Yes there are cyclists who cut red lights and piss off pedestrians as well as drivers but I know for a fact that my folks do not fall into that category yet some of the stories they tell me of incidents and close calls make me worry that one day I'll get that phone call. Be patient and consider how you'd feel if that was your parent or child or friend. Worst case you're a little late but you're alive and so are they.

Lol but I do know what you mean! " Visit Box Hill any weekend and you will see what I mean. They are a law unto themselves. Not only riding many abrest but also in the oncoming lane. I do feel for those and their loved ones who are killed or injured but it is not always the motorists fault. Perhaps mandatory insurance like car drivers would be a good idea. As I said initially, consideration is a Two Way Street.
