I see they were talking about a UK/London based franchise starting in the next few years. Do people think this would be a big success?

Think it might be if it's done right.

did they not try something similar in London before, or was that a euro-league? Think there's a significant expat market for it, not sure longterm though

yes it can...... but there are a few thinks that need to be sorted out...

it is am almost open secret that if any team were to move here it would be the jacksonville jags.... as they don't sell out their home games

the positioning would be easy... move the miami dolphins from the afc east to the afc south... and then put the london team in with the NY jets, Buffalo Bills and New England Patiots...

time wise.... 2.30 or 6pm starts works find with US tv... not a problem

you could have the home games in bunches ( 4 2game stretches... or 3-2-3)

at the moment any team that plays at wembley automatically gets the next weekend off, but for the east coast teams since the atlantic travel is only 1 hr longer than going "coast to coast" they may tweek schedules so that can be changed...

one of the things the NFL would insist on is that all "london" team games would be on "free to air" tv.... since sky have just swooped in to buy the packages for sunday night and monday night games which use to be on channel 4 and channel 5... they would need to find a work around....

in fact today is kinda like a met police audition to see if hosting multiple big events at the same time works... you have 90k at wembley, 60k at the olympic stadium (ireland vs italy) and 60k at the emirates (arsenal vs man u)

wembley would host 6 of the nfl games... the other 2 would be at tottenhams new 60k stadium when built

it would allows for some england football game to go back "around the country" to be played at old trafford, st james park, ect ect.....

Crawley

Had to sell my ticket on so I could go see Weird Al Yankovic at Hammersmith Odean tonight.

Can't wait for the other two games though.
