Nah... I went the year before last and ticked it off my bucket list. I don't think I'd do it again. It was epic in terms of photography opportunities but it was too big for me. Happy to say I've been there, done that but it didn't grab me enough to want to do it again.

I first went in 1992 last went in 2011, probably clocked up half of the ones inbetween. I doubt I'll ever go back. Not that I didn't enjoy the last one because I did but its evolved in to something very different to what it was and while that's not a bad thing (it would be awful if it stagnated) it's not for me anymore.

That said it's something that anyone that likes to party and/or likes live music should experience at least once

Similar to us. Glad we went when we did and have some wonderful memories but felt it was time to hang up our wellies.

Sold out in half an hour - something not right here.

150,000 tickets done in 35 minutes.

Let's say 6 tickets per transaction- that's 25000 transactions in 35 mins.

or, roughly 800 transactions per minute?

Fuck knows but this is bs - bet they sold half the tickets to some hospitality type company

Have you ever seen them being sold elsewhere? No, so how did you come to that conclusion?

Short answer, it's not a conclusion. More a rhetorical statement.

the fastest they sold previously was something like an hour and a half.

Something material has changed - 150000 tickets in 35 mins?

yeah cos us IT professionals usually improve system capacity by over 100%. Year on year.

Done quite a few of the heavier music festivals, but Glasto's never really appealed to me. Musically, it's too commercial and nowhere near heavy enough.

We managed to get our tickets (11 of them in two transactions). They've sold out in roughly 30-45 mins for at least the past 5 years.

£228 is a bargain for the festival given that it's the only festival of it's type where you can take as much booze as you like in and to any part of the festival - one day at Hyde Park and I did about £150 booze!

Last year they sold out in 24 mins. Year before, was under 45 min. This year they took longer so they actually performed worse. The selling agents Seetickets had a dire reputation but have smartened their act up. Also, ticket numbers: 118500 sold yesterday, 18000 approx sold Thursday as part of coach packages the remaining amount go to volunteer organisations such as Greenpeace, Wateraid and Oxfam. Is there any other factual information you would like some help with or do you think you can find google all on your own?

I've been going since I wAs 14 ... Know Michael and Emily personally as done loads of work for " The Farm " over the years !!

And no I can't get free tickets !! Lol

I have never personally paid to get in Pilton because it used to be a challenge to get in for nothing and some things never change !!!

Roll back the years to when we were 17 and had work vans ......

Pick up peeps from Cary station and drop them off at the gates all through the lanes ....£1 a head ... Females with kids went free ...

Then Saturday morning we all jumped in ....

That wad then, this is now. If you could back the "118500 My Arse" statement up with something close to a fact, that'd be great.

Piss on you!

First time I went I was 6!

Promptly ran away from my parents, made friends with a bunch of rastas and spent a delightful after noon colouring in pictures Haile Selassie and the Lion of Zion.

That was 1985.

I've been most years than not since.

I know that it's all about the event and not just who you see but I'd like to be able to decide to go based upon who's performing.I mean if I got a ticket to last years when kanye was playing I would've been seriously p****d off

Then you misunderstand the whole premise of Glasto, and we're better off without you. If people think that the Pyramid Stage is the only thing going on, then they would probably be happier at Reading/Leeds or V.

The festival has over 50 stages, and 1000's of acts (those are just the billed ones). There is entertainment for everyone from 10am to 6am (some places you can find 24 hours of live music or DJs).

I never even went to the Pyramid Stage this year (and have only been there 4 times in 6 years of attending).

I've only ever seen one headline act on the Pyramid in all the years we've been going.

This thread is awesome. We've been to every Glastonbury since 2004 but never thought about whether other festival-goers might be swingers too. Don't know why but it's just two different sides of our life, two different communities I guess.

I saw rage against the machine, new order, bad brains AND Frank Sidebottom and Jethro on the comedy stage. Nothing can ever top that for me. Skinning up in full view of the police was fun too, they really didn't give a shit!
