I'm sick of Chrome!!!

I have windows 8 and use chrome...

When i click on some links, like 'answers' or anything that streams a small video it locks up...

Then a brown bar pops up at the top of the page which says Flash player has stopped working...

I think its a conflict between flash player on chrome and adobe player which was installed with windows...

But i can't figure out how to sort it.

Should be an option on that bar - to 'allow' or similar.

You've got the latest flash yes?

I know browsers like ff disable flash, but you just click to allow.

Take it you've got latest Adobe yes

It does this to me at work. Drives me mental. The response from IT was to use IE!

I'd probably uninstall and reinstall flash, just in case.

There's this info on chrome's site:

Fix Flash problems

If Flash isn't working, try these solutions to fix the problem:

Step 1: Turn on PPAPI plug-ins.

Open Chrome.

In the address bar at the top, type chrome://plug-ins and press Enter.

Click Details.

Scroll down to "Adobe Flash Player".

Under "Type: PPAPI", click Enable.

Step 2: Make sure that Chrome is up to date. You get Adobe Flash player on Chrome automatically, and it updates when Chrome does.

Step 3: Update Adobe Flash Player manually.

Open Chrome.

In the address bar at the top, type chrome://components and press Enter.

Under "pepper_flash", click Check for update.

Plug-ins that use NPAPI, including Silverlight, Java and Unity, won’t work.

If it's NPAPI plugins, they're no longer working in chrome, according to their site, from the last month. I'm not a techie though, so don't have much clue.

Yes if got the latest flash.. and i press allow, but it doesnt cure whats happening... and it still runs at a snails pace...

and I agree

... no way am i going back to IE thats got to be the worst!

I think the problem could be a conflict between adobe flash and flash player which until recently i thought were the same...

Chrome is shite. It may have a small footprint and be very light on machine resources, but there are so many issues and limitations that I just live with the overhead of firefox as it behaves and does what I want.

firefox does the same tried everything and then just used opera or safari as they seem to play in them much better
