"Monogamy perhaps worked better when adult lifespan was much shorter and tribal murders were possibly standard." It's a very hard wearing and really inheritable.

"It isn't what? My opinion is that monogamy suits some and not others, the problems arise when two people of opposing views on it get married." I do think its interesting (as your posts are - don't count on me being back for long as our work schedule is horrific at the moment) - I am coming to the conclusion that I am needing to swing less and less, but love the social aspects of the lifestyle - not sure if that counts as monogamy. I would not in any way expect Mr to give his bi side up, indeed, love to see him with a man ... but I can't be doing with all the pressure there is out there (not at all from him). I can totally be monogamous

Imagine having to take several wood based points of view into account, nightmarish situation.

"Yeah so would I. However after watching this programme it got me thinking. Perhaps swinging is natures way of telling us that we do need something else ? For instance, we decided to come here because of my bi-curiosities. However when I told my hubby I'd like him to be part of that he was very excited. I've been having doubts that this site is the best way to meet a lady and when I spoke to him about it he seemed really disappointed about coming off the site. I'm now thinking he maybe needs someone else more than I do? Personally I think monogamy is attainable as long as you invest in a marriage and keep it interesting and my reason for looking to out with the marriage for a lady to join us is genuinely because I want Us both to share this experience and feel it would enhance our sex life. However if I went to meet a lady on my own I'd feel this was being unfaithful to him, with his permission or not. However I see someone who just wants to have sex with someone else other than their partner verging on the boundaries as someone's who struggles with monogamy. Am I way of the mark? " wanting to have sex, with someone other than your partner is different to actually doing it. Even monogamous people will have fantasized about somebody other than their partner....or most of them. I could be wrong but I'm getting the feeling that you aren't sure if this whole thing is for you. I suggest talking more with your partner as well as us. Personally I see nothing wrong with a couple in a strong relationship who to the outside world appear monogamous, exploring their sexuality with other people either together or apart.....as long as they're both happy but I would say that. I have no experience of polygamy so can't comment but I have no problem with that either. Do what you want and harm nobody.

" There's many different ways of relationships. None of them are wrong. As someone else said, there is only a problem when the two people aren't compatible. Monogamy works great for lots of people. For others it will never work. Do what makes you both happy.

"My view on this and all human behaviour is we have reached a level of complexity that there is no one size fits all solution to human behaviour anymore. So really stop worrying about what's normal, or expected or "right" and just do what makes you happy. " Totally agree however I'm just concerned that what feels right for me isn't what feels right for him lol

Only you two can communicate with each other about this in any way that will mean anything to your lives.
