The Town by The Cross

Then just GIVE them the advice via p.m without any hassle and don't expect a reply.

That's called GIVING.

If you'd contacted them previously and they said "no thanks" it could appear as you were trying a different approach.

If you really just wanted to help, instead of sending a message with your number, why didn't you just send the information?

It's obvious that people will form their opinions based on what they see, especially when that's all they've got access to.

Oh and aren't full stops supposed to go at the end of a sentence

I think the full stop thing will be down to the device he's using. On my phone the full stop is so close to the space bar that I'm for ever sending texts littered with them.

I agree thought about judging by appearances, it's all we have to go on on the first instance.

If the advice was on how to use punctuation, I have a feeling I know why they ignored it.

The book cover suggested that you were potentially seeking to get too close for comfort. The artwork had a big Stop sign, keep clear.

Because many people use such things as a ploy to get your contact details.

Can you genuinely say that you would stop at the advice and respect that they have already said no or would you then start sending "You're very sexy"/"I want to do this, that and the other" messages to them?

It's like when people put in their contact details to get a quote for life insurance or something and then get all sorts of companies ringing you, trying to sell you shit.

If you've read a lot of books you'll become quite good at making a fairly good decision based on its cover, yes some gems might slip through but most people can live with that.

Some covers are thankfully pretty fucking unambiguous, meaning you can avoid very easily.

1 that isn't judging you

2 you could have just gave the advice via pm so giving them your number was irrelevant, via pm or over the phone your advice should be no different should it, unless you were trying to use wanting to help them as a tactic

Titz Towers, North Notts

I once judged a book by its' cover. It was all about 70's fashion. I gave it another 10 years before it is retro enough to be cool again.

I would have pm'd them the advice but they did not specify what car advice they needed and as phoning them goes it would have been a lot lot easier to explain over the phone.

2.thought this was an adults site not a children's playground lol.

No need for phone numbers on fab and I prefer advice to be written anyway.

You could have pm'd some general car advice and followed it with an offer of more specific advice if they would like it.

Again, no need at all for phone numbers.

just the way off life....move on and find something else or would you rather meet up with some one in real life then they have second thoughts and decide to call it off?

That's not judging you, that's refusing to give a strange man off a swinger;s site their mobile.

Although the terminology you use does suggest that your intentions were not as honourable as you make out hence why you are annoyed at their reaction

Well that contradicts your op doesn't it! You stated their car query was something you know about, now you're saying they weren't specific hence your reason for contacting them with your phone number.

They saw through your ruse and your miffed!

They're not interested in you! Get over yourself and move on!

But hardbacks are just plain covered with an embossed name.

They're the shilloette avatar profile of the book world
