little house on the praire

Wow can't believe it's the first of October, this September has gone down as the second best month in my history the first was coincidentally a September as well. But it seemed a really long month with so much happening.

Last two weeks have been such lovely weather the coat got pit away again.

Hoping October is going to be the same, we have Halloween and bonfire night to look forward to, wrapping ourselves up in the evenings and warm cozy nights.

Twinkly lights appearing everywhere.

Conker's, I love Conker's they remind me of going conkering as a child and the joy of finding them bright and shiny still half in their shell.

They also remind me of when my son was in special care as the walk up was full of conker trees, I've still got the Conker's I used to pick up and keep for him.

Wearing wellies and leaf kicking as well.

I like October too, there's a new smell to the air and the lights different.

This October signals the start of a new phase in our life too so very exciting.

Ah yes, conkers on the string, used to soak them in vinegar! Remember collecting rosehips to take them to the chemist for rosehip syrup, plenty of hawthorn berries to use as ammunition in a peashooter, kids don't do that anymore.

I love all of the "ber" months but October and early November are gorgeous. Can't beat the colours.

What a gorgeous day! There's been mist here every morning for the last few days which gets burned off by 9, and the rest of the day is golden. I may go to Fountains Abbey as the trees will be especially beautiful now.

I love the fall. All the colors, the crispness in the air, all the best foods arrive. It also has this relaxed feel about it, at least for me.

We also got both our dogs in the fall months.
