A survey shows that 25% of people would leave their partner for an all expenses paid trip around the world.

Would you leave your partner for a round the world trip?

Here's a question

If your partner had the opertunity of a free holiday would you allow them to go without you

I know a woman whose taking a year out of her marriage, she's a out 62 and she's taken herself of to Europe spending a few months in different countries, every three months she comes back to England meets up with her husband in London for a couple of weeks then goes back, she hasn't been back to the marital home

"Here's a question

yes and he would also give me his blessing, that's why I asked if you where just leaving while you went on the trip.

It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and if it wasn't possible for you both to go then I'd be happy for him/me to go alone

Yeah I think that needs clearing up

I took it at first that the question just ment leaving while on holiday and seeing as so many was saying no they wouldnt leave their partner to go on holiday I just wondered if they would be OK if their partner did

But re reading it I think it may be leave for good which obviously isn't the same

If they are both happy with this situation I think it's a great idea and will probably do the marriage a world of good

"Here's a question

Yes. It isn't a case of allow really. I think most successful relationships are based on both people acknowledging that their partner is an individual and that sometimes they're going to want or need to do things separately, that's when negotiation and compromise comes in. Allow kind of implies that one has domain over the other.

"Here's a question

If your partner had the opportunity of a free holiday would you allow them to go without you "

Of course, we do it and pay for it. Most years I spend a month riding in Europe alone, L has regular weekends away doing things that are either with friends I am not connected to or things that don't appeal.

But to split up as a couple for money... no way, you can't buy what we have.

My parents do this quite often! They have been married 45 years and when my father retired, he bought a flat, they live apart at times, then holiday separately just because they are so different!

Of course they'd never seperate but enjoy life to the max!
