Car Manufacturer : brand loyalty

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

So the VW thread got me thinking, do you have loyalty to any car manufacturer ?

I musn't because over the years I have owned :

Ford (Sierra, Escort)

Vauxhall (Cavalier)

Peugeot (405, 406 Coupe, 407SW)

MG (Roadster)

Rover (216)

Fiat (Seicento)

VW (Golf, Bora)

Volvo (S40)

Audi (A4)

Nissan (Qashqai)

Citroen (DS3, Picasso)

Toyota (Auris)

Saab (95)

So that's 18 cars in 24 years driving

That leads me to another question : how often do you change your car ?

Puts out better numbers than the 207gti and cooper S engine at 175bhp

"I'm a VW fan, I'm into the whole VDUB scene, love the original mk1 golfs, campers and the corrados. But am also a fan of Audi"

Slammed MK5 or 6 golf (on finance) on a set of BBS (usually reps) pretty much sums up the 2015 modified car scene.

Throw in some sticker bombs for extra dub points

Mine is the Dsport+ bluehdi version. Only has 120bhp but 200lbft of torque, wipes the floor with my mates Ep3 Civic Type R....but I do drive like a flange though lol

Bloody Nora some folk change cars like I change my pants

I've been driving 10 years, had a Ford Ka and now got a Fiat 500.

Was in a nasty accident in the Ka and it crumpled like a bit of tinfoil. Touch wood nothing like that in the 500 but it's been a great wee motor, cheap as chips to run and so reliable.

Kinda got my heart set on a Lambo next though

My first 2 cars were both Ford Escorts.

When I got my first company car it was a Vauxhall Vectra. Since then I have always had Vauxhalls; 2 Corsas, a Meriva and I just got a new Mokka Techline.

Had a Toyota Verso for 3 years before the Mokka, but ultimately I find that Vauxhall give me much better value for money.

My company lease scheme has a standard 3 year renewal, which is nice.

New car every 3 years, due another next summer. Will most likely go for another Berligo or 7 seater Picasso.

I don't go for what a car looks like, or its performance, it needs to be easy to get in and out of (not low down and no heavy doors like you get with 3 door cars) and huuuuge boot for wheelchair/mobility scooter and my rollator on the back seat.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I've had an even number of Minis and Vauxhalls.

As I choose cars based on being able to a) reach the boot to close it and, b) being able to reach the pedals it's not so much loyalty as practicalities.
