I understand why certain threads are removed, I.e. Those that for instance relate to privacy infringements or potentially legal disputes. However recently threads where people are generally being "arses" are being removed too.

Why can't they just be closed by admin instead of removed.

Looking at some forum members their threads don't look so bad, but have posted some utter rubbish, and hence had threads removed, so now don't look as bad.

Surely thats better for everyone if it's locked?

Just wondered if anyone else noticed this or if there was a reason?

Gets ready for a thread lock....

I noticed that today - Reading some inane crap by a forumite, I was about to make one of the wittiest and most incisive comments this forum has ever seen- and BANG! Gone, just like that!

I know it just seems to be happening more - I'm sure threads that started going badly were just closed. Now they seem to get deleted.

Another avenue of pleasure cut off...;-)

"Admin works in mysterious ways!

Is that pic for the avatar challenge??"

Yup.

Opinion is divided as to weather it's really good or really scary.

Someone suggested it to me.

They do indeed... I just wondered if there was any logic to it all - a change in policy?

There's plenty of inane drivel threads. I guess admin just sweep them off to keep the place tidy.

Others were being passive aggressive about someone in a thread, I called them a bitch and got a three day forum ban. Such is life, guess I deserved it.

If admin deleted all the inane drivel threads there would be nothing but tumble.

No...threads have always been removed as well as shut. The mod makes a judgement at the time as to which one it is. If you have a query about one it is best to ask Admin from the contact button
