Ok for some reason I am craving a ruby at the moment.

Going to a pukka restaurant and having a good old chicken tikka biryani and veggie samosa.

However this is pretty dull.

So any suggestions for something a little less obvious would be very welcome.

May faves are chicken vindaloo or Madras with plain boiled rice. Naga or a phall if you like it really hot!

Have also tried a crocodile curry before.

My favourite at the moment is a chicken bhurta with a tarka dhal on side with a plain paratha and mushroom rice. Hence why I only indulge on special occasions. Oh, and for a decent starter you can't beat a masala dosa with coconut chutney and a sambar.

I always have lamb rogan josh if we get a takeaway or go out for a curry. I make chicken korma or butter chicken quite often at home as they are the only curries the kids will eat.

Why not opt for a Thai Red curry from a local Thai restaurant if there's one near, less obvious and a great change in my opinion.

I don't like 'wet' foods so curry, is not normally on my radar.

I do enjoy a good tandoori mixed grill though

Either a chicken vindaloo, or a liitle beef phal.

Went to a Nepalese restaurant a few weeks ago- try some of their dishes; really good, quite peppery. Also the Tandoori mixed grill or Karahi Chicken usually comes out well in most places.

Had a Phaal (one up from a Vindaloo) once as a bet- just painful....

Otherwise a Thai place for a Jungle Curry if you like heat.

Well...Lamb Narga. Vindaloo hot or maybe phaal if I have been drinking.

Or a nice King Prawn Tawa.

Both with a keema, coriander and cheese table naan.

Also like a Dahl puri if in a veggie mood.

Never eat rice...no point.

BSE

No real flavour...it's only there to carry a sauce.

Pasta is the same. Just pty calories that add little but bulk to a meal.

Naans are much tastier and then comes the perfect carbs...chips.

Not with a ruby though.

I love a saag paneer

Before I knew I was allergic to coconut I loved kashmiri kormas, in fact just any korma with loads of fruit in it.

"Why is there no point in eating rice ?"

It must bloat him up, there are some terrific rice dishes which when spiced up and served in the appropiate manner will be an absolutely marvelous accompaniment to any meat dish
