Great idea a quick and easy way but a polite way rather than a delete and block it can seem quite harsh

I believe there was many moons ago? Or am I thinking of a different site?

"I believe there was many moons ago? Or am I thinking of a different site? "

A different site has a button that has a preset "no thanks" reply but I'm pretty sure you can customise the message to your own.

I added a site suggestion like this a couple of months back. You'd prefill your default message and optionally block the user at the same time.

When I'm on my PC later I'll hunt it down and paste the URL.

Why would a standard "thanks, but no thanks fucko, you are now blocked" message (or whatever text you propose), coupled with a block be more polite, easier to take or more acceptable to the sender than just deleting the message and/or blocking?

If you are simply wanting to save your clicks from two clicks (delete, block) to one click (reply with no thanks and block button combo) you are still left with the message to delete.

So, what you really want is the Reply no thanks, delete message, block sender SUPER COMBO button.

Of course, an option to do this for everyone would help, so you could delete, block, reply to all senders in your inbox would save you more time.

But, to save you having to do this, what you could get is the preemptive strike option: as soon as someone looks at your profile it blocks them and stops them sending you a message in the first place

No it wouldn't. I was on a site that sent automated no thank you messages to people outwith what you were looking for. Nice and polite.

Jesus the vitriol spewed by those receiving them! Women were up their own arses for not replying personally!

You can't win.

Mail filters work great. Block everyone and send mails out.

Deleting everyone off the 'Looking for' list takes you off the searches and reduces mail.

Copy and paste a "no thanks" type message then block.

Lots of existing site tools.

Yes it would be far less awkwaard and much quicker than sending a message saying no thanks and blocking the yourself
