I know someone who uses a clean towel for every shower and bath, for the whole family of four.

I read somewhere, that towels should be washed, after every three uses. I always also hang my towels to dry after showering. I'm presuming we all have more than one towel? ...I change them twice weekley wash them in between, bath mats also. I have far to many towels and let's not even talk duvets, sheets and throws , which are washed on a Sunday unless I've had bedroom company.

Towels once or twice a week. I feel like more than that is really overkill. Hand towels get changed every few days because they get used more often.

Sheets about 3 times a month, I mean to do every week but usually end up missing a week if they look alright.

I dread to think of people's leccy bills who change all the towels every day!!

Yup... that's a fair point, I do that every day but I'm not sure I'd compare bed sheets and towels to my knickers. I'm happy not washing my towels/sheets daily. I wash myself daily though so I guess that's good enough for me.

Carry on with your routine if it works for you. Much as I love clean sheets on my bed, I'm not sure my Mum would appreciate that level of extra washing.

If I walked round with a towel between my bum cheeks all day I'd probably change that every day too. But I don't, I get in the shower, wash myself well and then use it to dry me off. It's not really a meaningful comparison.

Interesting to see that some people change their towels after only using them once

Hotels promote the re-using of towels in the interests of the environment - less detergent and less energy; although I suspect that the real motivation is less cost. That said, those savings can be made by a household, especially, as someone has already said, you're only drying a clean body. I do like to air mine daily and change them (towels) every 3 to 4 days; once a week for sheets.

Towel bales are so inexpensive nowadays, there's no reason to re-use really.

you buy new towels every time you use them?

'Re-use' as in more than once unwashed.........................not used once then thrown away "

Got it! You mean cheap enough to have more than one or two sets

I know someone who uses a clean towel for every shower and bath, for the whole family of four.

Someone with too much time on their hands then or OCD, I guess? "

Sigh, it's not OCD, it's CDO!

My mum bought us two bales of very expensive towels. They're gorgeous but the darn things take about a fortnight to dry on the line in the summer so we can't use them at all in winter.

I buy Christy's towels, always in the sales. Cheap towels aren't for me. I'm a total snob.

However I've taken to using my travel towels in the summer cause they dry super quick without the heating on.

Yeah and some people might think its acute personal hygiene while others think its some kind of OCD.

I've worked amongst shit and filth all my life. I consider myself hygienic but there's too much sterilty these days.

We're becoming a nation of OCD weirdos.

Despite my (and my mother's) apparently slapdash approach to hygiene I have no allergies, no breathing problems and rarely get ill. There's something to be said for exposure to a bit of dust sometimes.

Of course there isn't, but I don't feel less clean than you because I don't wash my towels and sheets every day. We all have different levels of CDO... I wouldn't touch any of the towels in our office for example.

Some people I know think I have that dco thingie, I just like things to be a certain way

Cleanliness is important to me, can't have dust due to asthma, and like the smell of fresh things

Must be the name for cleanliness

Suppose I had better get a wash load in soon, then make bed, hoover and dust front room, oh and start cooking dinner too

Bed one or two times a week and towels after every use. Yes you are only drying clean body but also rubbing off any lose dead skin.

It varies as I use a lot of towels for exercise, which just get 1 use. Home towels used infrequently, changed once or twice a week and live alone. I like fresh each time but I get that with my gym showers. Sheets etc every week, sometimes more if hot.

Chams or Socials

The boys towels get washed after every bath but they drag them all over the floor, use them to soak up spilt water etc.. They have 1 bath a week at my house & 1 at their dads.

They also both have 2 swimming kits to wash each week as they swim on Thursday & Friday. I'll use my towels twice.

Beds changed weekly (more if I have a meet) because boys are stinky even when clean & I love clean sheets on a Sunday night.

I have 2 airers in dining room that I use to dry them & blast for 10 mins in tumbler

Its not ocd to wash towels after each use. Shocker here but i only shower every other day so by some peoples standards id also be a dirty fucker

(Obviously i shower before any meets though)

Also we have like 25 towels so its not as if i have to make sure there washed and back them same day.

I don't like to lay on a sweaty bed, and dry myself with a clean fresh smelling towel after a shower.

That's me too. I can't relax unless it's on fresh bedding. And using a towel more than once makes me feel funny. Yes, my washer is used a LOT.

Gross ! Fresh towels every bath or shower and fresh sheets once or twice a week and sometimes once a day in the summer

I wash my towels every couple of days. As to my bedding, in the summer every week, winter fortnghtly unless I've had a really bad shift at the pub then weekly. Would never ever leave then longer than two weeks.

If I invite someone round, which is a rarity, I put fresh bedding before they arrive and fresh bedding on once they've left

I don't have a laundry timetable, I have the machine on every few days & stuff gets washed.

If the towel isn't clean grab another out of the airing cupboard!

Bedding gets changed 7-10 days.
