Anyone here into mountain biking? It's a great hobby of mine (although it's hard finding mountains in Essex) but I am often over hadleigh park riding the Olympic course. Would be good to see if anyone else is into mountain biking or just cycling in general

Road and mtb here. Did my first "wiggle super series" weekend before last, and hope to do another soon. I have this week off work and i hope to spend today exploring salisbury plain. (tanks permitting). I have also ridden MTB in the mountains of Colorado. An experience i can't recommend highly enough! I built my own bikes to!

Ive ridden in the Spanish Sierra Nevada mountains, fantastic mtb country & somewhere I aim to revisit.

Good to see there's a few fellow cyclists out there, I do own a road bike but very rarely get out on it, blasting through forests and over/down big rocks is much for exiting although I do like the fitness side of road cycling, not that I can do many miles especially with the drag from baggy clothes (can't bring myself to wear Lycra)

Really into the Road myself and love getting out for a good ride every few days even though I ride for commuting and social reasons pretty much everyday anyway.

Nothing better than riding on days like yesterday and today..nice and sunny but cool and dry for those longer trips.

Had a great one yesterday from Bristol down to Weston super Mare and back and it was fantastic.

Came out as 53.3 miles on the Garmin by the time I'd had a little detour to the bike shop in broadmead for a bit of air in the tyres as the rear was feeling a little soft.

I went out straight down the A370 thru flax bourton and congresbury then over the motorway into Weston.

Really enjoyed it and if the weather holds I might go back to Weston this week but go via Chew magna,Blagdon and Churchill but come back up the A370.

My lovely overspecced Rockhopper doesn't get the use it should but riding buddies have faded away and Mrs T tries but she's the the ubiquitous 'fish on a bike'.

I like the idea of the skinny bikes as they seem to go 10mph faster than me on the smooth. But I would look a big sausage in that lycra and I know I should but I don't like helmets.

I've been riding mountain bikes since 2000 and just got into road biking as well. Even had a go at motor cross this weekend! Mountain biking is just the best way to keep fit and see amazing places. I've even had deer running along side me in the woods, had owls swoop past my head and seen countless sunsets. Made great friends and shared fantastic memories. There are only positives to be had riding bikes

Been known to throw myself down some hills. Got wiped out by a loose dog last time and ended up in a blackberry bush while the owner wandered by unapologetic. Concentrated on road biking on my new Felt so not put my rebuild MTB back together this year.

Very interested in some of the North Wales trails.

Used to ride cyclo cross for my old club years ago, St. Helens C.R.C, hated doing them, as I would usually wipe out or damage the bike from my bravado.

I am looking to get back into racing next year, just need to get the miles in the legs.

Think it's dragon ride or something done it last year and will not do it again for a few years. It was absolute hell on a bike. I'm not a climber and 60-70 out of 100 miles where climbing the descents where awesome though. Brilliant friends made that day

I use 2.4 Mountain kings on my on-one 456. They are great and roll fast. You just have to check your clearance on the frame to make sure it can take the width.

I'm using two 52v lithium iron batteries from my old kango , I'm really unsure about how much range they'll give me! But I wanted to try something with thermal protection as these lithium irons have a habit of bursting into flames when run hard ..... I'm presuming all prototypes go wrong on the first outing...
