It's gone down pretty much now

Dreading the morning if happens again !

Anyone had anything similar ?

Never been allergic to anything before expect stings !

The next reaction could be worse. Make sure you have Pirton (chlorophenamine) just in case. If you have another reaction take 2 tablets and crush with water. This gets into your system quicker. Monitor your breathing. Any difficulty ring for an ambulance and get someone to explain you are having an anaphylaxis reaction. I'd get it checked out by your GP. He can prescribe an epipen if you start having them regularly. I have had many reactions. It takes 3 mins for my airways to close so it's not something to be taken lightly. Good luck x

I had an allergic reaction to medication on Sunday. I'd taken it before with no unwanted side effects but suddenly huge red hives appeared, antihistamines sorted it but my gp told me to stop the medication and prescribed a different type. So unless your medication is vital stop taking it until you can see your doc.

Don't take them again without medical confirmation first

Phone your surgery in the morning and ask for a telephone consultation. Allergies aren't something you should "just get on with", at the very least make sure you have antihistamine with you. Did the chemist give you any advice?

well if my face was really badly swollen and numb shortly after taken new medication I think I wouldn't be taking anymore until I found out what it was

Without trying to frightening you if you are having an op and any anaesthetic is used either local or general you must inform your medical team about your reaction. Allergies can happen at any time, to anyone. Believe me an op is not a good time.

If it's anaphylaxis all the Piriton in the world won't help, you'll need epinephrine.

Current advise is to take 2 piriton on monitor breathing. That's stopped me having a full blown attack many times. Obviously epipen at the ready just in case it doesn't.

Ive literally just had the same, 9th day of a 10 day course of anti biotics for tonsilitis nothing at all bad till i wake up this morning my bottom lip, chin and right eye/eye lid swollen badly! Off to a & e checked over apparently nothing serious but i was right to get it checked, told not use said anti biotic again and get a allergy test.

I'm allergic to several antibiotics. Always starts with a rash on the top of my right leg. The really bad reaction put a bright red rash all over (head to toe) that was painful if anything touched it. Thankfully, I was in hospital at the time, so they stopped the IV and gave me strong antihistamines and steroids. Took a few weeks to calm down though.
