I like beards that don't hide grotty teeth and belong to hygienic men. Beard types have always been a fashion for men. In the 80s it wasn't fashionable to have a beard and then the music business introduced the George Michael look,the business man starting to sport a goatee. In later years sideburns became fashionable and now anything goes. I don't know who made the full,bushy beard en vogue but I'm guessing a musician.

I'm not into the hipster look - but that's because I'm officially old!

A beard on a baby face and skinny jeans down their arse is not a good look in my opinion!

But then hair scrunchies and tracksuits back in my day weren't attractive either!

I think some (grown up) men suit a beard it all depends on the face...

Some people suit beards, some don't. You can usually tell the ones jumping on the fashion trend as beards may not be the best look for them. In my case I've had a beard since I could grow one and even when I trim it down short it still feels kinda wierd. I don't have a massive bushy one but it's still there.

Their time has ended, those with them now are on the tail end - should they care about fashion. Some of it is about boys looking more like men.

I'm not a fan of the scratchiness on skin and some guys do look better with than without. But enough is enough. I want to see clean skin more again.

Ive had a beard on and off for 25 years. It grows so bloody fast. I usually shave just before I meet. I dont do trends I'm just me.

This thread is about a year too late. Keep up with the times, us bearded "hipsters" have been around for years it's only until recently when the mainstream media and fashion houses have started to call it a "thing" - if something is on TV and in magazines you can guarantee the sheep will follow it regardless of what it is. Take Dr martens boots for instance they've been around years and years but are considered "in" at the moment

I generally have a tidy bit of stubble but I do chuckle a bit when I walk into a bar and see four or five guys usually below 25 with the hipster leg beards. An engineering side joke, we call them snap on beards

oh and no I don't resemble an certain eurovision winner from a few years back. I lose the beard when needs be lol

Body hair isn't a trend, (shaving is the trend, beards are just natural) and jesus I'm slightly tired of people associating beards with hipsters or lumbersexuals. Like, hello, father xmas and dumbledore are neither of these.

I like a proper big beard, Neil's is getting pretty epic. I think he'd look fantastic with viking style braids, maximum butch. It feels lovely when he kisses my neck, and I love grabbing it to make him kiss me

in general I like beards. Billy Cononley dyed his purple, that was cool. More coloured beards

I sometimes like to grow my beard for a few months particularly around autumn/winter time and being Asian naturally it's rather easy if you get my jist..

I don't care about trends or vogues I just like to sometimes grow it as it feels good to have. Then when I get rid of it can't recognise myself in the mirror I end up looking like an overgrown baby as some of my family have kindly put it so its back to clean shaven face again..

I forgot to shave down my sideburns always had them. Had my beard on and off now for over 2 years . Everytime I mess it up and have to shave it off I get told to grow it back...

You should really learn to do your research properly. The article was false - there was no proper study, no scientists or microbiologists and no poo in beards. The origin of the story was from a TV news network in New Mexico USA which involved a news reporter swabbing mens faces and sending them to a lab. The swabs showed up bacteria which of course it would as human skin is home to many microbes and bacteria such as E coli. That is all. My beard and the skin on your face would provide the same results.
