Oddly I think the first gig I ever went to was to see the Specials... with The Selecter, Bad Manners and some other Two Tone Records bands.... and it was on a school night!

The best.... James Brown, Hyde Park... with the RHCP.

Best has got to be stiff little fingers

loads of times. but one of the best live gigs I ever saw was cypress hill at reading festival in about '93 ish.

First I think was Dogs D'Amour at Leeds Uni. They were so loud that my ears were ringing for two days.

Best is difficult.

The Stones (The stadium show on "Four Flicks"), Madness (1994 comeback tour), Prince (at the O2), and Muse (Wembley this year) have all put on incredible shows, but the one I always go back to is an obscure one.

In 1990 I saw a band called The Cross at the Astoria in London. Down the front, hot, sweaty, crushed, sang myself hoarse, nicked the setlist off the stage at the end.

.Anyone remember them? Groovy Train and Altogether Now were their biggest hits.

Best band I've seen were probably the Foo Fighters-Dave Grohl is a great frontman...

first band i saw were a band called titus who were from vancouver...it was shite...i found out later they were a christian rock band that sang rock songs about god.

First was at me Dad's firms dinner n dance, no idea who they were.

First I chose to see was Pink Floyd at Fairfield halls as part of a youth project. Days when it was all smoke and monsters crawling about the stage.

Best, dunno seen so many, maybe the one I enjoyed most was Blue Oyster Cult. Also loved Rod Stewart and the Faces at a Maidstone free concert. Ahh those were the days when you could see bands for free eh?

First ever was David Essex.

Saw live Tina Turner, Simply Red, Gloria Estefan, Michael Jackson, Oasis, Kasabian, amongst others but the best for me will always be Jules Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, every time I see them live they rock the room! xxxx

First was Lindifarne who had a little known band doing the warmup, called Genesis! You may have heard of them? That was at the Watford Trade Hall.

Best? Very difficult as we used to go to Knebworth every year so got to see some of the mega bands... Queen, Stones, Genesis (again!) Led Zep, Pink Floyd... Along with many others..

Then you have Richie Blackmores Rainbow.. Deep Purple.. Wishbone Ash..

How do you expect me to choose from that lot!

My , Pete, first was Wishbone Ash at The Rainbow Finsbury Park in either 74 or 75.

Best was Leonard Cohen at the O2 a couple of years ago...restored my faith in big venues.

Always good value to see....Richard Thompson in any format; Stiff Little Fingers; The Blockheads...even without Ian; Chas and Dave... very under-rated musicians and always great fun.

Sue rates Bowie on the Serious Moonlight Tour as her favourite although she does have a soft spot for Jools Holland's Big Band....but thats cos it was one of our first dates and she's just a girly romantic.

My most fave band growing up was Roxy Music but I always managed to miss them live so Sue has bought us tickets to see them at the O2 next Feb....£132 for two tickets! I remember when I would not have paid that much for a car.

Just after his issues became public - back when it was just "some images that PC World have found", I saw a tribute band called Gareth Gritter and the Gritter Band.

They did put on a hell of a show - half GG tracks, half general Glam Rock.

Can't remember the first gig I went to as it was well over 30yrs ago

Best though were Queen, The Specials, Slade (an awesome live band), Status Quo, British Lions (ex Mott the Hoople and Medicine Head), The Blues Band.

Haven't seen a "big" band for couple of years now. Last one was a double headline gig by Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac) and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers.

On my wishlist is Bruce Springsteen and ZZ Top
