First husband vs second husband

Someone said to me that she thinks women choose their first husbands as a bull: good reproductive potential, family men, good genes, breadwinners etc. However, the second husbands are picked for passion.

I think she has a point, what do you think?

I think, statistically, most women still choose their first husband for life.

Sorry to be a tad boring.

I think my ex-wife chose me because she thought she could control every aspect of my life and have complete freedom to belittle me in public.

I never want kids and I have my own job. My first, and only to-date, husband was chosen for love and passion....and a whole host of other reasons that have nothing to do with family potential, reproduction, or breadwinning.

I'm not sure, asking for evidence of reproductive potential before marriage must have come along since I got married. Unless you can now deduce sperm counts just by looking at someone.

Good health is a often considered (by evolutionary biologists) as an indicator of good reproductive potential.

I chose my wife because she was good at mixing concrete, and she put up with my humour. I couldn't afford a second!

Women choose husbands who have money.

The first one so she can snaffle his. The second so he won't try to snaffle hers.

I don't know if as Ginger was in a long term relationship before we met if this counts because when we do tie the knot will be her first husband and would never call myself a bull

Why didn't you just marry women who had their own careers then? I wouldn't have ever married anyone who would be freeloading off me.

On,y had one and was widowed 18 years ago and no one has ever got even close since , so there's no chance of husband no2.... Not even sure I'd even live with anyone again

Ithink you mean 'prepared to' rather than 'good at' regarding the concrete mixer. I was very pleased to get it after mixing by hand.

Surely we marry someone because we love them, have shared interests, and want similar things from life.

Just me?
