not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds)

So I buy a pair of jeans 30" waist...regular leg.. fit perfect...

I buy a pack of boxer trunks 30" waist.. I think I've had my waist garoted..

When is 30" not 30"...??

Anyone else find this.,

I'm sort of 28/30 - it's a bitch buying black trousers. I don't want those drainpipe pipsters they seem to sell to fashion victims. Just some normal trousers. I had to settle for waist 32 in the end and everyone can no see my underwear.

Why should something so basic be so complicated just 'cos I'm not fat enough?

There's the real 30 and then there's the flattering 30 most companies now a days over size stuff so people don't feel as big as they are, from your post I would say your actually a 32/34 but bought flattering jeans

They have odd sizes in the USA - not weird odd, just odd numbers, not just evens.

Otherwise when you lot move up a size you think you're skinny and can pad out a bit, to stop them falling down.

Depends on the manufacturer /designer. So many offer different cuts and sizes yet state there 30". I've a pair of Edwin jeans, need 34" waist in those, Levi 501's I'm a 33"

What gets me is the measurement isn't just an arbitrary number. It's a measurement in inches. Not US inches, or Taiwanese or UK inches. Just inches. It's not that difficult to sort surely?

As for women's dress sizes. Well...just don't even get me started on those.

I'm a 31 waist so it's online or in the 2nd's rail is where I get most of my jeans etc. but I've got 30's and 32's that also fit me, most jeans will loosen up in time so a pair that's tight at the start will feel better in time

Women's sizes are the same. It's all utter bollocks just to make people feel better. Ignore the label and just try something on that looks like it will fit.
