When petrol went up once a year in the April budget and then by only a couple of pence a gallon?

Now we are facing the 6th fuel duty rise in 2 years and come January the 3rd VAT rise on petrol in the same period.

Two years ago just after all the fuel depot protests the price was 97p a litre, just how much are you paying today?

It no longer goes up by 1 or 2 pence a gallon but by 15-20 pence a gallon, just on tax hikes. All this before the oil companies shove on their take for inflation.

Pretty soon we ain't going to be able to afford to travel the country to swinging meets. Maybe we should join forces with all those students!

Yet we will silently protest to our friends and neighbours and pay it anyway.

The only good thing in this is that the cars I like to buy are plumetting in price.

Its stupid to hike petrol but we pay it.. If EVERY motorist stood against it then they would stop..as lets face it the fuel companys make enough money from it.

Its just an easy way to get money from us..and blame it on the green taxes.

Katie.

Yep just ranting away. Tesco petrol has gone up 2p a litre this week, not because of any tax, but because of demand through the bad weather! Now that is blatant profiteering. Once the ice and snow go, they'll bring the price down again.

Not just fuel, what about the T.V license.

It used to make headlines in the tabloids when it was put up, now it just goes up without a murmur.

Its the same with bread and milk, I can remember outrage at the 10 bob loaf.

Now we just shrug, dig deep and pay up.

So switch it off and do something else!

Better still, go and MAKE some good telly, if you feel that strongly about it. There's 5000 channels, bound me room for you...

Bloody whingers, the lot of you...
