Hi Everyone,

I was just thinking about how nice it is to relax, to sit back and calm down. When I was younger, I would spend hours and hours on the subway in NYC just reading. Now, in the UK, I feel like I don't have that place I can go to.

So, what is your favorite way to chill out? Share with me so I can find a place, too

I sometimes get a pin and blindfold myself. Stick the pin in the tube map then head there. When above ground stick in my earphones and some fave tunes then go exploring.

I get in my beautiful car and take him to the beach, sometimes with a flask of good coffee and a book, other times I take my journal and scribble. Watch the world go by, kite surfers and dog walkers. Sometimes I just stare at the sea.

I just visited Cornwall this summer, and I an totally see how that would be absolutely amazing. Not sure about winter, though. But I guess it would be quieter.

We love going walks down by the river near us. It's a beautiful long walk and we just mooch about, talk and take in the changing beauty of the surroundings as the seasons change.

Really relaxing way to chill out.

Beside a river on a sunny day with a bank high enough to disappear from view with a good book. Though these days I am happy to just tell everyone in the real world I am somewhere else and sit in my living room and ignoring the phone if it rings.

Weirdly for me its the gym....I can block out the world and concentrate on nothing but the next rep. Get in tune with my body.

Or I meditate... hear nothing but my breathing, see nothing but the play of light and shadow in front of me.

As a natural introvert I do not need any outside stimulation to reach a happy place.

That sounds similar to me in New York. But there, I didn't have to pay by the distance so it was easier.

If the weather's good then the top of a hill or a dappled woodland glade suits me perfectly. If the weather's awful then I quite like art galleries and interesting old buildings or people watching from the window of a coffee shop.

When I can get out, Take the motorhome to shell island (campsite in Wales, between Barmouth and Harlech) feet up by the sea, no tech just enjoy doing nothing

At home, tell my wife about something naughty my daughter did, left in peace for ages while they battle it out, haha,

Seriously missus has a moped and I'am prone to taking that into the lanes and just finding a quiet spot to relax with a book

I generally just play my guitar to relax. At the moment I'm learning how to play delta slide blues properly and I'm loving it.

I like to go to a sauna/steam room,

I just shut my eyes and relax and making sure I have a bottle of frozen water with me,

15 minutes at a time going back and forth

Quiet river in the middle of nowhere. Got a few favourite spots. Or Wasdale in the Lakes. It's the Western lakes so not as busy as Windermere or Ambleside.

Basically going anywhere where there's no people!

Ullswater lake we found great for quietness, quiet little laybys. Huge lake, bliss, only saw a small handful of people and we where there about 2 days

like the idea of sitting in an art gallery and observing. Interesting mixes of people tend to go to places like that

An island with no technology...I can imagine it now. Its the best part of going on holiday, really - leaving the cell phone behind

In the evening, when everyone's in, I often take a very lethargic slowly sauntering walk off to the harbourside and watch the last light in the sky fade over the bay. I find the slow walking very healing. I first learnt how nice it is when I visited Houston in Texas some summers back and realised that if I walked any faster than a slow saunter I'd just explode into a ball of sweat. Plus... I'm getting practice in for when I'm an old fart

An island with no technology...I can imagine it now. Its the best part of going on holiday, really - leaving the cell phone behind

when i was a teen to get away from home id cycle to dunham park - there is a huge old oak tree i used to sit under - take a book and just relax - doze - sort my mind out - loved it - now i walk - takes my mind off stuff

I can see the appeal in no people. I always found it good to surround myself with them and ignore them.

Its easy...just takes practice. I also read a lot which helps
