Who knows it of by heart? Doesn't count if you use it in your job

Jay and I are playing a silly game of who can bore the other the most, I just had to repeat the phonetic alphabet and failed as I couldn't remember a few, in my defence I've never really used it

It was ingrained into me from a very early age. Air cadets took care of that as a youngster and reading pilots licence ground school text finished off

I recently started needing to use it in work and was surprised I remembered most of it. I did have to check up on the one I couldn't remember when I ended up giving a postcode ending in '2 bravo quadbike'...

Then again when I do say Quebec I often get a "huh?" in reply.

I LOVE those call centre staff whom are lost for the appropriate words and say "Oh, you mean A for apple? S for sugar? W for Whiskey?"

They made us learn it when I worked in a call centre years ago and it's stuck it does come in handy but no more handy than just using a word to describe the letter.

Learnt it early on as I kept getting people writing down my name or postcode wrong.

Now its ingrained and It actually is quite useful when you are talking to people, they often get quite impressed. I've had at least one lady tell me that it turned her on when I used it whilst out shopping :D

Use it occasionally at work, but more in previous job in I.T. Can remember once reciting a product code to a customer who thought Quebec started with a K.

Also remember a workmate saying he'd told someone to type "M for mother" and they'd typed it all in, not just the M.

God, we worked with some fucking idiots in that job, lol.

I used to have a postal code with a G in it.

I never new the phonetic alphabet off heart so, whenever I had to recite my postcode over the phone ( to, for example, the bank or council ) I used to say "G for Gnome"...

Used to wind people right up, lol!
