Controlled freedom, haha

Smart casual gives the ability to stop shorts or excessiveness without being discriminative,

How strict they are as too what you can get away with is usually sheer guess work

Its for a course.

We are free to wear what we want in the office so been wearing shorts all summer

We have dress down Friday. They say smart casual and specify certain items. For example clean none ripped jeans, collared shirt. Gets ignored anyway but that's the male version in my head.

. No jeans , trainers , or t shirts . All clothes should be ironed and presentable . Causual trousers such as chinos, cords, open top but long sleeve shirts./

Smart jeans or chinos , shoes not trainers polo shirt or short sleeved collared shirt no tie.

That's what guys wear at my works smart casual events.

For smasual training i'd probably wear true black jeans, ballet pumps or courts and a nice top.

Not dissimilar to what I'd wear in the office on a normal day in fact!
