Some people are serving overseas, taking time out from giving birth, recovering from illnesses, jaded and taking a breather etc.

How others use the site has no bearing on my time here.

If you really wanted to be found, you would leave your address and phone number (don't) - but there are many reasons for taking a time out - its an option, so why not take it when you need to

I'm out of hiding for a few days, I hid originally as someone was reporting every status update to my FB and I didnt like the feeling of being spied on, however I was still lurking in the forum from them to time as you do

Because they want to, we hid our profile for a time it was easier than leaving then setting up a new one.

We all do stuff that other people don't understand. I don't understand your username unless it describes what you're looking for.

Kev and I both had single profiles before we met and became a couple.

My single profile is hidden because I'm no longer playing as a single. Haven't got around to deleting it yet - spose I'll do that at some point, but it's not causing any harm where it is so there's no rush, is there

My issues are that Im back at work, contending with a 4 year old on my own and currently not in a position to meet.

However once the little guy is in bed I come on for a bit to chatter in the forums or message friends to say hi. I tried explaining this in my profile but no one read it so it's easier to hide for now.

people choice to do whatever they want with their profile.

Took me awhile to get my profile how I like it and I'm not going to keep deleting it every time I want a break.

How the hell is it creepy?

We had a break from the site for a bit so hid our profile so people didn't message us.

When we get inundated with messages again we hide while we catch up

When we are on a run of work and don't have time for a few days we hide so we don't come back to a full inbox.

My couples profile is hidden at the moment since me and the BF are ships passing in the night workwise so time with each other is for just us. Hiding the profile momentarily stops us popping up on searches and getting messages. I'll sometimes hide my own for similar reasons. How is trying to save people from wasting their time creepy?

Some female members (and probably some male members too) have asked admin for an option to show as offline when we are online so we aren't inundated with messages when we want to just cruise the forums or have a chat. Guess what admin told us? To hide our profiles.

Surprisingly not everyone on here is here for constant meets. Shocking, I know. Sometimes we want a break from the constant 'Fuk now?' and 'suk me.' messages.

Finally, what people do with their own profiles is their business.

If you hide your profile,then all other aspects of the site should stop,so the person hiding a profile,should not be able to post in forums or go on cam...

It's beyond me why people can't just accept that we all use the site differently.

It's my profile, within the site rules, I shall write what I like, show the pics that suit me, look at whoever I like, block whoever I choose, message people who tickle my fancy, reply to who I like, ignore who I don't like and meet whomever I choose provided they want to meet me.

If I decide to have a break for whatever reason then I don't need to justify my reasons for hiding my profile to anyone.

What if you've already been found, want to use the site and need no further offers?

What if you're having a break and don't want people think you're rude because you don't reply?

What if people have a reason to need a moment of privacy?

People can do what they like and will normally have a reason for doing what they're doing. And on here, they will rarely feel the need to say why.

Even with the profile active they can still stalk and not show

I'll hide my profile if I know I won't be meeting for a while, not going to delete it just to rejoin after a few weeks/months, to then have to start over again.

What gets me is people saying they're leaving when their site supporter runs out, if you want to leave you would regardless, I'm not one that will message questioning their decision I'll let them do what they want (rarely leave). The male half of a couple I know done it on his singles and I said I'd reimburse him the fiver

I sometimes go into hidden mode if I wish to disappear for either a few days or months to go into incognito mode..

...or sometimes if I get a negative attitude and just want to browse quietly in the shadows as sometimes I just think what's the point in me even displaying my profile or looking for anything on here?...

then a bit of optimism creeps back Into my mind where hope remains and I make it unhidden again.
