I'm also very outdoorsy. I hunt, fish and go camping in the woods with my kids. Also being a single dad I'm handy in the kitchen too, although there's sometimes car parts in the sink!

I don't do superhero stuff, I can just about struggle through the basics of HTML (always more of a hardware fiddler than software), I've no interest in cosplay, I'm not 8 stone wet through with my glasses on- or any other geek stereotype.

I could, however, design you a house which is almost fully automated- you could switch on any appliance or light, control your heating or monitor your CCTV from anywhere in the word with data access. I could take your 1.1L 1989 fiesta and strip it to the shell, rebuilding it as a track or rally car. Maybe you'd like your own radio/TV studio and your own channel? I've designed a build a few of those in my time......I'm a tech geek instead of a computer type geek- I use hammers, screwdrivers, power tools, gaffer tape, soldering irons and stuff instead of code. My whole career and much of my leisure time involves having ideas and finding technical solutions to make them happen (or making others ideas happen)- think somewhere between 'Q' from James Bond and Andy the West Country farmer from Scrapheap Challenge......proper Job, Bond, proper job!!!

I'm a massive Trek fan although less of a Star Wars fan. I enjoy comic books (Transmetropolitan, Preacher, DMZ and others), and regular wordy books (Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett are big favourites). I also play a few musical instruments in a local band & am a pretty big bike (pedal) nerd too.

More a fan of Manga here, and Star wars instead of Star trek. Big Marvel and DC comics fan though, also into video games since the 1980's, used to be seen as geeky back then but video games are mainstream cool these days.

I code and make art... so I'm a bit of a hybrid. I'm not super expert on one tight field... more of a generalist who codes in several languages and is good at sensing the bigger picture. In my previous career I did this kind of stuff to quite a high level. But I'm striking out on my own now

I love studio ghibli

and my favourite movie genre is definitely scifi

After 7 years in Second Life, I'm pretty handy with lsl/mono scripting. My main account is a well-known (male) aircraft builder - writing scripts for flight physics & instruments... but my alt account is a very girly girl, who collects cute anime avatars (feel free to mock - lol).

I requested an arduino dev kit last xmas but events have kept me away from coding much yet.

I grew out of comics in my teens, when parents threw out my collection of 2000AD (had the 1st 100 copies... gutted!).

Never grew out of techy toys tho. Preferred fiddling with gadgets and blowing shit up, instead of having friends at school - lol

Was worth it, to become an aviation engineer, working on some cool cutting-edge stuff (shhh).

Unfortunately, all of this is meaningless, because I'm 12 years too old (booo). However, it is nice to see there's a younger breed of geeks (a lady, too!) following on the tradition

Whats your favourite anime? Trick question my favourite..is anime..in general haha studio ghibli for the all time greats but lately tokyo ghoul for the most twisted, well written and animated. Attack on titan aswell haha i also watch every episode pf naturo and naruto shippuden in about 5 weeks haha currently watching onepeice aswell..all you dudes talking about ill be your nerd you have nothing on me..

I find the use of the word 'gorgeous' interesting...it never ceases to intrigue me, how when it comes to opinions on women, so many guys views place a greater emphasis on who the woman is rather than what it is she does.
