How long do nipple piercings take to close up?

kim had to take hers out for a mri scan, took it out yesterday morning and can't get it back in now.

Any advice fabsters?

Depends how long you had it. Go back to the piercer and they'll help, or try after a hot shower. Or buy smaller gauge jewellery for now.

It's been in over a year. Piercer is 100 miles away so not an option unfortunately

If its only been out a day massage some baby oil in and then try, it may just be the outer layer thats closed it will bleed and be sore for awhile though!

Stick a blunt pin in some lube. Then get a thinner bar to put in it. I've not worn a bar in mine for about three years then stuck one through it a fortnight ago. It's still there. I thought it would have closed but no.

I had mine out for a year when I was pregnant and then breastfeeding. I decided to see if it was still open one day as whenever I fed the wee one from that breast he nearly drowned lol. So yeah mine was out for a long time and didn't close up. Suppose it would depend on the person.

The skin will shrink down but the tube of scar tissue should still be there. Lube the bar up and gently push it in it should pop through if you slowly manipulate it. Careful not to rip the scar tissue though

Rings are always harder to get back in. Try putting through a wool needle with savlon on .. Then thread a straight bar in . I used to have this problem on my labia piercings as I had rings the tunnel is curved the curve goes straight when nothing is in there.

go to any piercer they will reopen for you.

Hi , I've just had scans etc and an op. I replaced my nipple bar for an acrylic one, no problems with keeping it in ,

Might be worth buying one to keep on standby .

There are special types of jewellery you can wear made out of plastic (retainers I think) for X-rays, etc. but whether hospitals would accept them, is questionable.
