Shame none of them can form an even acceptable national team.

Just a heads up. England are gonna lose the euro's.

Sorry if I've spoiled the surprise

Yep

It's just a shame some people seem intent on trying to devalue his achievement by using it as an opportunity to compare his international career against the contribution and achievements of players from a bygone era ....

Yes his England's top scorer but not cut from the same cloth as the likes of Charlton, Lineker, Moore.

"Yes his England's top scorer but not cut from the same cloth as the likes of Charlton, Lineker, Moore."

The record books won't show that though. In 50 years time, it'll simply say Wayne Rooney 50+ goals in however many games.

it won't say Wayne Rooney 50+ goals in however many games and a bit of a plank who not many people liked, along with his chequered past involving alleged affairs and silly behaviour for his club.

He may not be everyones cup of tea or he may not be the 'best' whatever that is......He'll be The most prolific goalscorer we've had and I for one suspect, many will miss his contributions when he's retired and we're struggling for goals
