Any tips on getting rid of the blasted thing.

We have both had it, caught it of the youngen

About gone now though, paracetamol and nice hot chillie shift it for us

Drink lots of water it helps to clear the bug out of your system .

the cold will shift in a few days but flu normally takes at least a week to recover from.

keep warm, drink plenty of fluids and i used beecham flu plus tablets/hot drinks

Proper flu is evil!

If I catch a cold I just get soooo happy. Sniffles, coughs and the rest I can put up with .... the flu almost kills me.

Of all the cures that don't work ... whiskey is the best!

the problem with flue jabs is that there are many strains and no jab can cover them all

Never have the flu jab and I never get a clod either always warm and people moan at me when they see me out with no jacket on lol natural central heating and insulation wink, wink but this has hit me for six snotty nose and spluttery coughs very attractive lol. Olbus oil or vicks in steaming hot water normally does the trick and great for the pores.

Only ever had one cold in 8 years since ive started having the flu jab. Maybe just a coincidence. But when i got one it lasted 8 weeks and was after last years beach party

Best cure i know is a candle and bottle of whisky.

Sit at the table light the candle drink the whisky whilst watching the flame and you will soon forget about the flu

Nowt to do, it will go when it is good and ready. It is a life form but no one seems to know why it visits us in this way. A healthy lifestyle promoting a healthy immune system will help reduce the effects. Other than that you can only treat the symptoms. I find staying active as much as I can makes it leave more quickly.
