Black Pudding.

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

Although I shouldn`t eat it on some grounds, I`ve recently started eating black pudding because of the iron content! I`ve never eaten it much before as the rest of my family don`t even want to try it because of what it`s made of! I`ve had it at some hotels and it`s been sliced so thin and cooked and kept under the heat lamps for so long it was like eating biscuits!

So, do you like black pudding and how do you serve it? I like mine grilled slightly crispy on the outside while soft on the inside and acompanied by the rest of the stuff you find in a Full English breakfast of with a few slices of bacon as a snack!

I like the ones they sell in Lidl's, and would cut them into roughly 15mm thick slices, and pan-fried until crispy, along with one sausage, 3 slices of smoked streaky bacon, a fried slice, fried mushrooms, fried onions, and a fried egg or two.

Washed down with a glass of OJ and a large mug of strong creamy sweet coffee.

That's what I eat for breakfast when I go camping every morning! Yum yum! All that would keep me going until it is time for a BBQ in the evening!

Thanks for that DG! My local superacket does the Bury Black Pudding Company stuff which considering I`m in Dorset I reckon it`s pretty good! My first black pudding was bought in the Co-op in good `ole Glasgie!

The op was only a gastopocy to find if an ulcer had gone, which it had! The black pudding went even better with three slices of grilled bacon and a gurt splurge of Hellmans Mayonaise with mustard!

LOVE black pudding. We had it as one of the starters and in one of the main courses at our wedding

The starter was black pudding with red onion marmalade and the main was chicken stuffed with black pudding and I had them both

I remember being a young boy in Ireland and them bringing A pig to the house. All the children had to stay inside. I still remember the squeal of the pig to this day. I remember BEng allowed outside after and the pigs head was on the wall and all the men when cutting the pig up and putting it into barrels and salting it. There was buckets if blood in the kitchen as well. After playing out for the day I remember in the kitchen hung rings and rings of black pudding. Best black pudding ever. I like mine raw or fried gently in butter.

I'd never heard of black pudding til six years ago. Had a boyfriend who stayed over while the girls were with their dad. We went shopping and he put black pudding and those huge flat mushrooms in the trolley.

I fried them as part of his full English and I tasted it. I liked it...then he told me the ingredients. My stomach did involuntarily clench, but I did like it.

It's not part of my monthly shop and only eat it if I'm staying in hotels: the only time I have a full English.

Eating it raw?!! Now THAT'S perverse!!!

Love black pudding also there is White pudding which is really nice it's kinda fruity. Both should be grilled so it's hardish on the top and soft on the inside and served with full English breakfast.
