My Henry is refusing to pick up anymore, its been a good hoover, lasted longer than any of my dysons but rip Henry, so what do you recommend with having four cats, would consider another dyson.

I'm off out now but will check tonight.

I want one I can get online.

Notto fussed about the cost.

I've always found the Henry range to be the best. Mine lasted years and I had a lot of carpet. Are you going to have a funeral?

I bought a Vax cylinder one to replace my Dyson, it was a LOT better at picking up on wooden floors. Think Dyson have a better guarantee though?

The best thing about a Henry is the cat can sit on top and have a ride whilst you're hoovering.

I have a Dyson cylinder vacuum. Love it. It's just a standard one (had it for years) but still picks up everything including cat hairs.

Aw I like that idea. My partner's cats hide as soon as he brings it out, wish they'd ride it.

"Pssst. All the above are not Hoovers, they are all vacuum cleaners

I have a pal who works for one of those vacuum cleaner companies and I'm forever being told off for calling them all hoovers.

I have a Henry and quite frankly I'd buy another. Every place I've ever worked has had a Henry so I figured they couldn't all be wrong. In terms of cat hair, works a treat.

Had a couple of Dysons. They never lasted long. All professional cleaners I have talked to recommend Henrys.

As a "professional " cleaner always go with and recommend Henry and Co.

Good for pet hairs and allergy suffers

Good news for Henry, he may not have died yet, going to take him to the repair shop and see if they can do anything. He has been good to me so he deserves a chance.

I can borrow one while he's there..

If not might get another Henry after all.

Thank you for your suggestions xx

We have a Kirby that's 23 years old and still works as good as new. Expensive, but solidly built.

More importantly it has a headlight, which I've always thought is a minimum if you want a man to use it.

did you do what I said and wash the filter above where bag sits ,wash and dry it thoroughly and check pipes clear they are two main problems with a henry

The reason Henry's are 'good' is because they have a relatively simple filtration system.

This means that they just keep on sucking because the smaller particles (think pollen and plaster dust) that are stopped by the more complicated systems just pass straight through.

I would recommend a Dyson Animal, a Meile Cat and Dog or the new G- Tech Air Ram.

Just clean the filters regularly- I currently own a Dyson and just bought an extra filter for a tenner when I bought it- so I have a wash and a wear! x

No deal. I behave in the manner in which I see fit: whipped cream, speed cuffs and ice cubes later? We'll get busy?
