My ex look stunning with out make up but she always plastered it on saying with out it she feels old.

Have any of you blokes out there put a bit of makeup on to feel younger?

Ladies do you feel that you have to wear makeup?

Also what do you feel about men wearing makeup?

I don't feel I have to and often don't but I enjoy it, I like putting it on, choosing a shade of lipstick, giving my eyes a bit of colour. It's possible that I have been influenced since birth to be this way but my mother was and still is very anti, she feels it's vain.

Certain men look gorgeous with kohl in their eyes too.

I don't feel or have to wear makeup everyday, I like my skin to breath.

I wear it cause I feel better about myself wearing some.

Iv always wanted to put mascara on a guy who has long eye lashes

Other than that I don't think men need to wear makeup!

I wear loose powder and mascara. I prefer my skin to be matte instead of shiny, I think it looks a lot better. Sometimes a little eyeliner, but that's rare.

If I could find a foundation that was pale enough, I'd probably use that too. If my lips were bigger, I'd probably wear that too.

I like the natural look.

I have to wear it. I look like death with a skin disease without it. I don't overdo it though unless I'm going out out.

I don't wear make up on a daily basis. I only tend to wear it when I'm going out somewhere nice/special. Then it's not loads.

Mainly because I have sensitive skin and I'd rather have some extra time in bed in the mornings.

I don't wear it every day and when I do it can range from just a bit of lippy to the full works using all those products that have a very specialised purpose.

It's part of the routine/ritual of getting ready to go out so it's part of the psychological build up.

I'll also put it on for some occasions if I want to be treated a certain way, along with choosing clothes carefully for the occasion - the male equivalent would be making sure you have a really good shave and wearing a suit and tie instead of just turning up in your scruffy comfy jeans. It's not right but the way you present yourself can change the way others treat you.

"It's not right but the way you present yourself can change the way others treat you."

I am not sure that is so wrong to be treated depending on how you present yourself. I am thinking that if I make an effort (whatever that means for an individual) then they should be treated with the appropriate respect and appreciation. If somebody turned up in their jogging bottoms and a stained T ... well, I would see that as "not caring enough" and would more than likely dismiss as not my cuppa.

I am talking (particularly) about the scene!

Well one day I went into Boots and tried a red nail varnish tester pot. I never have naked toes but equally I haven't the patience to paint my fingernails. So I tried the polish on my thumbnail in the shop and left it to dry. I liked it.

So I decided to keep it.

Being naturally fair, mascara is my friend as is a tainted moisturers. Going out I like a more dramatic look. That said, I do sometimes go to work without any - never want to be a slave to the made up look but I do like a bit of make up.

I don't feel I have to, but I want to, so I do. A lot of it. Every day. But because I do it well, I look much better than without it, and I enjoy the process and the creativity of altering my look with different styles and colours.

Rarely wear make up, a bit for a meet or if I'm going out, I much prefer the natural look on women especially young girls. I just think if you've got a pretty face why hide it behind makeup.

I do wear tinted moisturiser and have my eyelashes tinted though.

Certain men do suit makeup but not many

That's exactly why I wear make up....i wasn't blessed with a pretty face and I have to work bloody hard to make it look natural otherwise people criticise you for wearing too much make up.

I love makeup and buy loads. i subscribe to a makeup club every month.

I tend to wear the same things though as i prefer to have a natural look. So i use it to make my skintone more even enhance my pale eyebrows to blonde from invisible etc.

I wear it most days but try and let my skin have a breather at weekends if im not going anywhere..

I dont mind a bit of guyliner if it suits a guys look but id be put off if a guy wore full makeup unless they wear ts/cd whatever. Then id be like ooooh whats your fave X? haha

As a bloke I prefer the natural look on women. For me - if I can tell a woman is wearing makeup (subtle lippy or mascara aside) it's probably too much.

As with all things its down to subjective personal taste and not right or wrong.

It's not big and it's not clever but I often wear too much makeup, almost like I haven't grown up from preschool days when id spend hours putting it on.

I sometimes vary it as near natural, with just a little colouring but it's habitual. My skin condition isn't as good as it was, so need to be careful o don't slap more on, to hide this.

Chams or Socials

Some mornings my colleagues are lucky if I've brushed my hair!!!

Eyelashes are dyed so no running mascara & nails are normally nice.

As I get older I'm wearing less but do make a real effort if going out or for meets.

If I want to impress someone, I will put on some foundation, mascara, and tinted lip balm.

I rarely wear make up during the day but do like to when I go out.

I love red lipstick and have quite a collection ...

To be honest part of the reason is that I am so short sighted I can only actually put make up on properly when I wear contact lenses

If men want to wear make up that's fine my me too.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Just as with women, some men know how to apply it and look good in their makeup. Regardless of gender, if the person wants to wear it that's up to them.

I wear eyeliner, mascara and lipstick as my going out makeup. If I fancy some makeup and it's just a work day I might just wear the lippy, just the eyeliner or sometimes the lippy and the eyeliner.

Buying a lipstick is a little treat that can lift my spirits.

I don't wear full make up everyday. For work it's normally a bit of lip gloss and mascara. I like to save the full face for feeling extra special lol

I'm not a fan of men wearing make up, but if it makes them feel good why not.

Mr Iconic could not wear make up, I'm laughing at the thought of it, it really wouldn't suit him.

I don't wear make up to work but I do when I go out. I like to paint my face and experiment with alternative makeup. I wear Indian facial jewellery and diamanté on my face too.

I like creative and bold makeup rather than the understated look.
