Ch4 doing another programme on the 70s.

It's sex education in 70s now.

I've come in at the end but it's a trip down memory lane already.

We were taught sex ed (I guess it's more just about reproduction than actual sex ed, it was purely biology eg the sperm fertilises the egg) by matron. Boys and girls were separated. Sex wasn't really discussed, and definitely not the pleasure side of it.

This was 2000s. Bloody nuns.

We had technical sex education at primary school. It was part of a 1970s study to see if providing early sex education would reduce teenage pregnancy.

I was surprised that my friends at secondary didn't know anything until we got to the condom class.

I'm sure it wasn't all good. The Vietnam war was raging, there were strikes/industrial action galore, and it now turns out that paedophile's were rife...etc etc. I think we are all guilty of only remembering the better stuff, I suppose.

Brilliant! Most people never think to preserve these things.

One of my favourite museums is the Geffrye Museum. It features English home interiors.
