I didn't need to actually but for a really odd reason.

A couple of years ago I was interested in sleep science, (because mine is all fucked up), and one of my friends sent me information on some studies done on animals, one of which was a tiger.

They took brain scans during sleep to determine if the brain activity is similar to ours.

They also, (and I'm quite sad for the animals here), surgically removed the part of the brain that paralyses the body during REM sleep. They found the cats, (I think these were just domestic ones, though I can't remember the details), walked around and displayed aggressive hunting behaviour during their sleep.

So there you go. Tigers dream of hunting.

Judging by the way my dog yelps in her sleep I'd say she does too... expect it's probably only squirrels or ducks... not gazelles
