I was a cleaner in the NYC public schools (a high school) to help pay for law school from age 18-22 during all of my holidays.

Ever cleaned shit out of a urinal? I haven't decided whether law school was worth it....

I knit baby clothes as I find knitting therapeutic. I also have a short attention span and get bored easily so I can complete a garment before I tire of it.

My other half asked what I was going to do with them. I looked blank: do?!!

He said people pay a fortune for baby stuff on ebay...don't they just!

Ben sells aloe vera: people pay £5 for three leaves!!! We have aloe veras everywhere.

He's saving for a DS something or other camera, I should know which one as he has a hard on for it and talks about it all the time and I'll just buy stuff for my grandsons.

I worked in a pawn shop for a year to fund my masters. I recall helping a fair few drug addicts and alcoholics fund their habits, and being made to turn a blind eye to clearly stolen goods. I kept getting ill from handling people's dirty belongings, and got shouted at by customers at least once per week.

But I think in terms of grossness, Courtney still wins. Damn

My worst job was door to door market research. Hated it. People could be so rude but it fitted in with family life at the time. Until I was cornered in room by man who wouldn't let me leave. My boss didn't bat an eyelid just asked if I got my quota.

I left and became a very happy waitress.

Some people make their own luck. Some people are born into privilege, some have others make their money for them, and some work hard their whole lives and have little to show at the end but occupational illness.

I have also worked hard and have achieved success. But everyone benefits from others around them and a lack of success certainly doesn't equate to lack of effort.
