WINTERSONG LULLABY

~

ever tender, irradiating colour,

protect my sweet landscape, till come summer,

shadow my land with your crystalline frost,

show me not what may have been lost.

~

encompassing whiteness, blanket their forms,

lyophilise them, but keep them warm,

and whilst they sleep all winter long -

lull them gently with your wintersong.

~

replenish their supplies for when they wake,

a bountiful breakfast they can make,

furred and warmed, they sleep soundly on,

sleeping softly thro' your wintersong.

~

WISHY.
