We all go through these stages it seems.. needing hugs and never getting them. If I didnt see my son every now and then I would never have body contact with anyone.

The unfortunate situation is that I'd just been with family, however, the hugs weren't the right kind of hugs. I'm not open with my feelings with my family, it's not something I have ever done, nor probably will. The kind of hugs I give them are comforting, but not the kind I need when I just want to cry.

I really do feel so much better. I know these hugs aren't physically real, but they've definitely helped me psychologically. I am so lucky that there are so many great people on here,and I will happily send hugs to anyone who wants one any time

Many people may have felt the same, family may not have. Family have expectations of you, strangers do not.

And I personally think the Internet shows there are more good people in the world than bad, with all the support people give each other.

Communication is not an easy thing for me for a number of reasons, so I accept that I can't really open up to family.It doesn't bother me for some unknown reason

You have to lure them in with cuddles first though, then it's less effort to poke out their eyes
