I have an antique cabinet and now find that I am unable to open it as it appears that the lock has jammed. I have tried spraying WD40 into the lock but it makes no difference .

The lock us a very simple basic one . If I call out a locksmith will he be able to release the lock without damaging the cabinet ?.

Definitely call a locksmith, if the cabinet has value you don't want to damage it.

The Four Corners

if the lock is old its probably a simple 1 axis barrel... therefore you could get a similar key and a hammer and tap trick it.... basically you get the key in as far as it will go and when it becomes stuck tap the key with the hammer and a split second later push.... the whole basis of locks is to push pins out of the way the bump causes the pin to jolt and you pushing the key keeps it lodged passing another pin ...fairly simple to pick most locks....

Disclaimer ... Fae has not and will not attempt to unlock any locks using the method described above.... that is of course unless its a chastity belt.

. Hi . Thanks . I took your advice and the problem is now solved . The lock seems to be working perfectly but I will still leave in unlocked .

I hope that you get a few meets from ladies seeking younger guys as an award . You also have a well written profile .

Anyway I used your technique and had an instant result .

Hi . The problem is sorted now . Cock was no where near the desk as it has had lots of action this for . For some strange reason, this week was the one that lots of my regulars choose to meet again so it has seen five couples already and declined two others as I could not be in different locations at the same time .

I think that the mechanism on the lock is just worn..Anyhow it is sorted now

Just needs to be picked and doesn't need a locksmith. Unless you want a replacement key for future?

A spare key sounds like a smart move.
