I lived near Reading for several years. It's always funny being on a train and listening to a group of youngsters with huge backpacks discussing how they plan to sneak in.

I sometimes wondered afterwards if they managed it.

I'd suspect security is quite tight, personally.

Missing it this year, but I no longer camp and stop in a hotel so I can shower, have a cooked breakfast each morning and a civilised poo

No, my son is going for the first time this year. Managed to get him a guest ticket for a cheaper price than an ordinary weekend ticket through facebook.

Town is full of festival goers. Just means queues in the supermarkets are a bit longer but that's all.

I used to go to reading festival a while back . I loved it , I had ling hair and a leather jacket in those days

I'm staying in all weekend. Already all the supermarkets etc are overflowing with beers etc.

I'm too old for all this shenanigans, I need a warm comfortable bed and hygienic loo at my age

I'm off to Leeds for it tomorrow! Just a day though, the thought of camping all weekend with a broken hand was a bit too much.
