"Turin looks beautiful surrounded by the snow-covered Alps, even in August."

Oops.

Bearing in mind we're guerilla camping in the Alps tomorrow night, at what point should I warn Mrs ddc?

Or do I just put a positive spin on it...

"Looks like we won't be bothered by mosquitoes tomorrow, dear"

Mr ddc

Go with the positive. You could be in the highlands being eaten alive by middies....and still no sign of summer!

Snuggling becomes necessity. It's romantic. Possibly.

Tell her to wear more than she does for your photo sessions.

On the positive side, at least you don't have sunburnt ankles!

Snuggling is tricky. My side of the airbed burst (too much paella possibly) so Mrs ddc just tends to squash me instead

My "it's too cold for anything else" heavy suede coat was bought in a market in Firenze. It was less than I would have paid here.

See if you can get some of those funny hand warmers with the clicky thing that makes them work.

What fun would that be?!

We got a classic in Bologna, and the tourists didn't bat an eyelid for it, just watched patiently and appreciatively. You'll have to wait though

We're still waiting for the plan, don't think it was cunning, just dreadfully slow in its execution

Either way, I'll take it slow on the corners. I'm terrified of heights; thankfully those stickers that go on your headlights block out so much of the light that I couldn't see just how scary it was coming in...
