Did you ever not met someone because it reminded or they look like someone you know. Like a relative, good friend...

I have this guy that keeps insisting in contacting me he looks so much like my ex partner Which we have a bad relation now

Transference is a real thing. Emotions and feelings are evoked when we recognise traits in someone else that remind us of another. It's natural. And unfortunately when those feelings are of a negative nature it can be very difficult to challenge.

I've had it as an excuse twice now. One was incredibly apologetic. - a real shame but almost funny in the end.

I wonder if types attract then...? Nah. I'm a bloke - my type is narrowed down to "women" (joke)

I won't meet anyone with the same name as my late wife, mum or sisters. It's just never sat right with me

Yes!!!

Omg a fair few guys on here look like my uncle Jimmy haha. Some look like my brother. One reminded me of my cousin (female) he didn't look girly but had very similar eyes. I've noticed some guys look similar to some of my meets as well, can be a bit confusing at first.

Suppose when you have a family as big as mine it's gonna happen.

Not on here but on POF. My ex of 9+ years was a petite Asian woman. Now I don't wanna message anybody who fits that description. Because I wouldn't want the woman to eventually find out and think I have 'a type'.

...saying that I do have a date with a petite Asian woman tomorrow...but she messaged me first.

There is a regular forum poster who looks the spitting image of a member of my immediate family in his avatar. I thought it was him the first ! Had to look twice.

"I would meet them as its NSA, so wouldn't matter lol."

I could not care less if a woman has the same look or name or perfume or height or age or star sign or job or shoe size or dress size etc etc etc as my exes or family members.

I'm here to get laid.

Was about to post similar.. was chatting to a guy for a couple of weeks, we got to arrange a meet, and he gave me his name and number - same name as hubby. I just couldn't go through with it, I was instantly in tears

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Yes!

I can't meet anyone with the same name as my son (deceased). I had a social with someone, he was nice but I couldn't take it any further as his mouth looked like my father's. I also met someone who looked like an uncle, by marriage, that I always found to be an obnoxious and arrogant idiot.

I did meet someone a few years ago where I would have taken it further but I reminded him of one of his cousins and he couldn't take it further. We just call each other Cuz in messages to this day.

I couldn't meet anyone that resembled any member of my family or looked like a close friend. I'd find that way too weird!

There is a guy who attends the greedy girl afternoon I go to who looks quite like my dad. I've turned down play, and am now a little worried if I am in a public room and catch sight of him watching....that would be weird too
