Regression therapy.

Anybody find themselves regressing to their childhoods and finding pleasure in simple things again?

I'm on the east coast at the moment visiting my daughter and last night we went along the sea front and went in the arcades. Brought back many happy childhood memories of growing up in the town. Absolutely smashed the 2p machines for a shed load of prizes but it was the simple pleasure of a stress free hour or two that got me thinking about how easy it was when I was a kid. Not been this child for a long time.

That's not regression therapy.

But RT is bullshit anyways.

The therapist asks leading questions.

Past Life Regression therapy is nonsense, but there can be a lot of value in regression therapy.

Not if the therapist asks leading questions, of course. But that would make them a bad therapist.

I meant in the sense I was enjoying the trip down memory lane and finding it therapeutic, just relaxing for a change.

We're not usually one integrated persona, but a collective, occupying the same body and mind.

It's good for us to satisfy all of ourselves and I'm a mix of child and adult as suited.

Not done those 2p type machines in years - sounds great for you op.

A house, a very big house in the country

Yes I do. Seaside holidays, the smell if candy and ice cream. Crabbing by the rock pools. Funfairs candyfloss. Playing treasure hunts my parents set up for us to play sweets were always the prize.

Imagine how good you would feel if we all went out into the woods armed with sticks as machine guns, and built a rope swing.

Unfortunately with the people on her someone would end up tied to a tree, being whipped with the stick, and everyone would turn to some good old fashioned dogging lol

You don't realise how good you had it when you were a kid till you try and relive those moments. Adult life sucks I want to be 8 again

I wish I could bottle the smells of the seaside so I could savour them later when I'm back in the concrete boredom

A friend of mine has said I could benefit from it....help me deal with my very traumatic childhood....

I don't recall most of my childhood, and I'm sure that's because my mind is protecting itself.... Why on earth would I want to remember all the shite that clearly is too much for my mind to process???

I wouldn't

I had counselling as a teenager... Again just dragging stuff up, making me break my heart only to be told "it wasn't my fault"

No shit!!!

Rather have a patchy childhood than another spell on happy pills thanks very much
