Have you tried magic colouring books? You only need a wet paintbrush and you don't have to worry about going over the lines.

I've already ruined several. Cats appearing from nowhere and rubbing their noses against the pen you're colouring with are a menace.

And I ended up with a cat with a purple nose that way a few weeks ago.

They may have been pastels. I used to make rainbows and sunsets
