People from all over the UK coming here to live and work; if it's so great everywhere else and the "rest of the country is supporting London" then why are they coming here?

I won't knock your area for no apparent reason than to say mine is better. London isn't for everyone but it's home and work for many more millions than anywhere else in the UK.

Middlesbrough has always been very industrial. It is not the most pictuesque of places. If you get used to the cooling towers and steriod pigeons it is not too bad.

The much maligned Labour government moved a lot of government out to the regions. Guess what, that led to jobs and increased prosperity in the regions outside of London. When those jobs we lost it hit the regions harder .

You can't have a 'let market forces' rule world and then dictate where business should locate. They decide where is best for them.

You go on to say that the people in London are colder than elsewhere in the country. It's another myth and basic misunderstanding that you just can't do things the same way when you have every nationality on earth in one place and the sheer numbers here in London. One to one Londoners are much the same as people elsewhere. Of course you then have to ask what is a Londoner? Is it that person from Middlesborough who moved down here and were they cold/distant/rude/whatever when they were in Middlesborough?

but face facts big business will locate next to goverment and if goverment is spread around cthe country the business will follow also look up other eu capitals and us capital goverment is structured around the country not just a couple of small departments

i worked on the shard i was fortunate to be paid well and yet the cost of the top floor and you ration that to the labourer during construction paid £7 an hour and george osborne visited during construction and this was mentioned and his reply was to shrug his shoulders

I'm an Irishman.....i have lived in London longer than most Londoners....

London is like another country.....it subsidizes the rest of the country ...Scotland....Wales and Northern Ireland...

Without the earning power of London...Great Britain would cease to be Great Britain.....

So all the London knockers out there should be grateful us Londoners are keeping their coffers topped up so they can indulge their rural pursuits....
